7 of my Favorite Designers From Fall Fashion in Paris …

Fashion week is always fun and I usually can't wait to see what the upcoming styles will be. I love shopping for all the new fashion trends that were showcased in the spring for the fall and winter. But the fall fashion shows displayed some really fabulous designs for spring. Here is a sneak peek at 7 of my favorite designers this season.

1. Junya Watanabe

Flowing fabrics layer long over long, yet warm weather shouldn't worry you. Sheer nylon, polyester, and silken smocks along with leggings and drop waisted-dresses made for light and airy outfits. For those who want feminine and pretty, Junya delivered in a big way.

2. Valentino

Dresses! Ruffles! Lace! And Valentino! A mix as grand and glorious as the name itself. This spring collection boasted dresses of sheer beauty with every feminine touch imaginable. Valentino seized the younger crowd with all eyes looking back to his fall fashions with polished elegance.

3. Celine

Though her pieces made a few heads nod and raised a few eyebrows, the designs were outstanding! Not far from her personal style, other pieces reflected her famous signature minimalist designs, showcasing white, cream, and other pale shades. Flow-y, deep hems marked the softer, sportier, and casual sophistication displayed for spring. A relaxed atmosphere played a key role in Celine's fashion.

8 Tips on Avoiding Online Scams …

Online scams are alive and running. We could be victims at any time, if we allow it, therefore, we need to learn how to watch out for those scams. I am going to give you 8 tips on avoiding online scams …

8. Online Casino

Online Casino

For an online casino, you will need to evaluate the website thoroughly. During this time, look for quality. If you already have an online casino website that you know you can trust, then compare the new site with the one you found to see how it adds up. Does everything on the site look like it was done professionally? What type of licensing and certification information do they have? Of course, you should also do your research on the website and read reviews.

7. Selling on eBay

Selling on eBay

I have to include this one, because when you sell something on eBay, I know you are the seller, but you could still end up walking into a scam. I sell stuff on eBay and a couple of times, I got someone requesting to go outside of eBay. You should never go outside of eBay. I also got a request to send the item first that the money has already been deposited into my PayPal, but it won't show up until I send the item. That is not true. If there is any money in your PayPal, even if it is on hold, it will show up. The money on hold will show up as being on hold. When you send an item, make sure you send tracking. I sent an item one time, didn't put tracking on it and the individual claimed they did not receive the item. Because I did not put tracking on that item, PayPal refunded their money.

6. Know Who You Are Doing Business with

It is important that you know who you are doing business with. You should never do business with someone if they do not give you their telephone number, street address and of course, their name.

7 Tips on Playing Far Cry 2 …

If you ever played the first far cry, then you know number two is going to be just as good as the first. Even though you don't get to play as jack in the first one, you get a choice between what characters you want to be. There is a lot to know about this game and how to defeat your enemies in certain way. Please read my 7 Tips on Playing Far Cry 2 …

7. Choose the Right Side To Be On

Depending on what side you want to be, you need to choose wisely. You have choices of 2 factions and the good guys. Each side has its own demands and missions. You can choose the good side missions and be in the way of both factions or choose the faction sides and be in trouble with the good.

6. Avoid Driving on Roads

Have you notice the enemy always finds you on the road or some sort of camp is set up to hassle you? Well, simple drive off road and stay away from road access. You can get to and from missions safe and less hassles.

5. Find Those Diamonds

When it comes to finding diamonds in this game it takes a lot of searching and aggregation. Of course the diamonds are found in a brief case, but it's hard to find out directly where it is on the map. You watch the green light flash more and more as you get closer, but its hard to find the direct place they are? Well, look up top of buildings and under the building. Throw a bomb or rocket at it to see if its hidden. This was an aggregating part of the game to me, but you can find them blowing stuff up.

2011 Ford Fiesta Review …

2011 Ford Fiesta Review …

Years ago, my sister had a Ford Fiesta, and my brother had a Ford Festiva. The Fiesta (which was only made for three years, from 1979 to 1981) was pretty sweet, but the Fesitva was something else. It was underpowered, cheap, and the exact opposite of aerodynamic. So when we heard Ford was resurrecting the nameplate for another small car, my sister and I groaned. We were confused. We couldn't imagine that the new Ford would have any reason to bring back such a dog, but boy, were we wrong. The Fiesta was the awesome car, with lots of pick-up, speed, and amenities. The Festiva was the dog. Suddenly it made sense for Ford to bring back the nameplate. I took delivery of a 2011 Ford Fiesta for one week, and I'm impressed. It's just as fantastic as the original.
1
My first impression? Sporty. Sparky. Fun. It's a small car, about the size of a Chevrolet Aveo hatchback, but more stylish, and with a lot more get-up-and-go. The hatch area is small, but definitely big enough for groceries, overnight bags, recycling, that sort of thing. And those super-hip TV commercials with the city streets full of MPG-boasting umbrellas? They're right on. Those commercials, the website, and the window sticker all say the Fiesta gets 40 MPG on the highway, which is marvelous, and completely true. I got about 41 MPG on the freeway, and about 26 during my city driving. And I have to say, the styling is downright sleek, streamlined, and sporty. The styling appeals to more than just me, the mom and grocery-getter. My 20-year old college student daughter wants one (fuel efficiency and design). My 6-year-old daughter wants one (styling and iPod hook-up). My 40-year-old cardiac nurse boyfriend wants one (handling, pep, and fuel economy). We're a cross-secti on of the population in one household, and we all love the car. My boyfriend and daughter both test-drove one from a dealership, since I had mine from a journalist-only press fleet, but we're unanimous — it's a fantastic car, one of the many Ford has made in its long journey to the top of the automotive industry.
2
The interior is roomier than it appears from the outside, and the small touches, like the side view mirrors and ambient lighting, are thoughtful and intuitive. I didn't have to look for the windshield wiper switch, it was right where I thought it ought to be. With the exception of slightly awkward radio controls, everything on the instrument panel, all of the switches and gauges, are right where you expect them to be.

In short, the sporty exterior styling, peppy handling, interior comfort, thoughtful IP, and impressive fuel economy make this a great little car. It appears the only thing the old Fiesta and this new one share is the name. And now I want one. I just hope no-one else gets the two cars confused, the old Festiva and the super-cool new Fiesta.

7 Cool Phones… For Your House! …

Does anyone have a home phone anymore? We all use cell phones, have disconnected our home phone… but I miss having a phone. I don't miss the phone service, I just miss the actual look and feel of a phone, especially the old, heavy rotary phones. They're so nifty in a retro sort of way. I've been looking for one to add to my credenza for decorative purposes only, and I've found quite a few I love! Here are 7 cool phones for your house!

1. Pottery Barn PB Grand Phone

Pottery Barn PB Grand Phone
Price: $59.00 to $79.00 at potterybarn.com
This phone is my favorite, because it has all of the design and styling cues of the retro rotary phones that I love, with modern features like push buttons, flash and redial. Choose from chic black or futuristic silver.

2. Vintage Rotary Phone

Vintage Rotary Phone
Price: $198.00 at anthropologie.com
This vintage phone, carefully restored by Russell Johnson Imports and sold by Anthrpologie, is the real deal, straight out of my mother's late 1960's Harvest Gold and Rust kitchen with the mushroom wallpaper and gold-speckled mirror family room. Choose from green, yellow, or orange; every one has been restored with original parts and vibrant new paint. Use with land lines only, because it won't work with new-fangled Internet phone.

3. Cheeseburger Phone

Cheeseburger Phone
Price: $28.00 at urbanoutfitters.com
While it pains me to think that anything from my own teenage years might be considered retro, during the 1980's, oddball "concept" furniture and décor was popular, like the Sports Illustrated football phone and the ridiculous (but must-have) burger phone. Juno had one, and she was cool… and now you can have one too!

7 Fun Things to do Whilst Naked …

Here are 7 fun things to do whilst naked. Some of these suggestions may seem fairly obvious but others are a bit more inventive.

7. Driving

Many people have said that driving naked is a really good experience, you feel completely free and unconstrained. This may surprise many of you but a lot of people that have never tried this have always said that it is something that they would like to do but are worried about being seen. If this is the case then why not try driving on your private property or only down the road and back.

6. Swimming

Swimming

Swimming will only be enjoyable naked if you like swimming in general. The added bonuses are you have not got to worry about trying to keep your bikini or swimming trunks on and you will not suffer from your bathing suit becoming too tight. In my opinion, swimming naked in a swimming pool is probably not as pleasant as in the sea.

5. Dance

Dancing whilst naked it meant to be very fun and enjoyable because you do not have any restrictions on your movements, like you might have if wearing clothing. You can dance this way by yourself or with your partner, if you are a naturist then you can always try this out with a group of people.

8 Amazing Serge Gainsbourg Songs …

If you only know Serge Gainsbourg for the raunchy 'Je t'aime … moi non plus', then you may think that he is just a one-trick pony. Yet Gainsbourg's career spanned decades, and he experimented with various musical styles. Here are some of my favourite Gainsbourg songs – don't be put off if you don't understand French.

1. Initials B.B

Written about Brigitte Bardot after the end of their affair, this is one of my top three Gainsbourg songs, the other two being listed below. If you've seen the film 'Gainsbourg', this is the song played when Bardot makes her entrance.

2. Je Suis Venu Te Dire Que Je M'en Vais

Or, I came to tell you that I'm leaving. I love the sad irony of those words. Maybe it's something only the French could do so well. Beautiful, melancholy and gently emotional.

7 Things I Hate about iPods …

You know, I hate iPods. I have one and yes, I do love mine, so yes, I know I'm being totally hypocritical here. Still, I hate iPods. But here, let me explain, so it makes a little bit of sense. I hope. Otherwise let's just pass me off as eccentric, okay? Here are 7 things I hate about iPods.

1. You're Antisocial

You're Antisocial

If you are listening to your iPod, you automatically seem antisocial. And no, I am not exempting myself from this. It's not true, at least most of the time, but it's kind of like keeping your cell phone pressed against your ear so you don't have to talk to someone. Sometimes you — and me! — really do use them as an excuse to keep to ourselves.

2. Earbuds

Earbuds get on my nerves. They can't be too bulky, the sound has to be good, the sound can't be so good the bass throbs in your ears, they have to be comfortable. My list is huge. Plus I want them to look good. Why is this a crisis? Jeez, I need new earbuds.

3. You're Obsolete

You're Obsolete

I just got an iPod last year. I was so happy! Guess what? It was obsolete about five minutes after I got it. MP3 players in general and iPods in particular are getting more and more like computers. As soon as you buy a new one, the next big thing is already out. Well, I don't care, because my iPod is pretty and it does exactly what I need it to do. This is the same reason I stick to my DVD player and refuse to buy a Blu-Ray.

7 Social Networks You Should Be Logging On To …

Call it what you will – the Next Big Thing or a Total Waste of Time – social media is no longer just a buzzword in communication. These ever-growing networks of friends and strangers may have started out as only personal file and thought sharing platforms (or even over-sharing), but are now used as powerful marketing tools for businesses and corporations around the world.

Some days I can't see the line between friends and strangers. Even if mostly I feel as though my A.D.D. is on overdrive!

1. Facebook

Facebook
While we silently mourn the slow death of MySpace, most of us have jumped ship to Facebook. This social network is used for personal and professional connections, news sourcing, game playing, photo sharing and a tool in building business and brand recognition. With its multiple uses, there will be abuse (ahem, Farmville) and certain spewed nonsense, but ultimately, I find it a great way to keep up with out-of-state friends, locate new local information and keep track of events and birthdays.

2. Twitter

Twitter
Twitter is the current social media darling. With thousands of users joining everyday, that's certainly a lot of chatter to manage. But if you need instant answers – and have a varied group of people with whom you are connected – you can glean useful information at such a brisk pace. When connecting with followers – whether globally or locally – it's like having a real-time chat in your web browser (or on your mobile device), but with a carefully selected list of friends, businesses, bloggers and celebrities.

3. LinkedIn

LinkedIn
Call it the "Facebook for business," LinkedIn is an online place to connect with co-workers, past employers and potential new opportunities. Upload your resume, work history and connect with like-minded industry professionals. With the use of groups, community members can converse about topics and issues specific to their field. If you are looking for work or a new job, it is an incredible tool to connect with the human resources staff – or the person in charge of hiring contractors – prior to applying to a position or sending over a portfolio.

8 Things I Loved Growing Up Country …

I grew up in West Virginia. I grew up in a very rural, very country part of West Virginia. Our neighbors weren't neighbors as such, they lived up the road and across the way. The town was barely a mile and a half long. Everyone knew everybody else's business before it even happened – and here are the things I loved about it.

1. The Freedom

The Freedom

Because of when I grew up – in the late 1980s and early 1990s – and where I grew up, I was in the latter half of the very last "Go play outside" generation. You could hear or see anyone coming, my friends and I were even allowed to play in the woods after dark. Of course, we rarely wanted to because it was frigging scary.

2. The Woods

The Woods

Speaking of the woods, they were better than all the swing sets, slides, and seesaws in the world. You could do more than just climb the trees, you could make entire worlds under their canopies. I played pretend so much, it's a wonder I haven't completely lost touch with reality. Oh wait…

3. The Gadgets

The Gadgets

My closest friend growing up lived in a house on acres of forest and land, all filled with paths – and four wheelers to traverse them. Okay, sure, in retrospect it probably wasn't safe, but having transportation around the woods made for hours of endless entertainment.

7 Inexpensive Ways to Express Your Love for Somebody …

Love comes in many forms and expressing it doesn't mean you have to break the bank. Sure, your best friend, mom, child or a significant other could certainly use an expensive perfume, state of the art gadget or a piece of expensive fashion but don't let the commercials fool you – your love is not proportional to the amount money you spend on a present! In fact, a personalized, handmade gift says much more. You know why? Because the amount of time you spend trying to put a smile on your loved one's face is proportional to the love you have for that person. I, therefore, bring you 7 solutions that won't break your bank and will definitely make your special person feel even more special.

1. "Why I love you" scrapbook

Reminding somebody that you love them is great but specifying why they deserve your love is even better! Let your boyfriend, husband, mom or child know you appreciate all those little things they do for you like making you coffee on Sundays, being there for you when you are sad, offering a good piece of advice whenever you feel indecisive… Maybe they have the prettiest smile you've ever seen, maybe it's how they look at you and maybe it's all that plus much more. They deserve to know and remember that so make a scrapbook that contains pictures of your special moments, lyrics, your own words…

2. Favourite music, movies or TV shows

Burn a CD with all his favourite songs, get the tickets for that new movie he's dying to see or secretly tape the TV show you know he loves but is not able to watch every day. These original personalized gifts are definitely the best way to demonstrate that you care, listen and know what your loved ones like because we often forget that saying "I love you" doesn't mean much if there is no solid proof to back those words up.

9 Principles to Live By For a Better Life …

What do principles mean to you? For me, they are the lifeline to my soul. I think that you will never be truly lost if you have your principles. They are reminders of the things that work and don't work for you. They keep you grounded and give you reasons for the things you do. Principles, not your possessions and money, give you value as a person. Here are 12 principles to live by for a better life.

1. Have goals and don’t be afraid to take risks

Goals, whether short term or long term, are important to keep you excited about life. Don't stop dreaming and don't stop planning ways to achieve your dreams. Remain flexible and don’t be afraid to try something new. If you don’t take risks, you’ll never grow and learn new things.

2. Do what you love or love what you do

Do what you love or love what you do

When you wake up in the morning, do you find yourself excited to start working? Life is short and there is no time to waste doing work you don't love or enjoy. If you are not doing what you love, then maybe you can try to fall in love with your work. You either change your work or you change your attitude towards it.

3. Be honest

Too many people have been hurt by lies and deceptions. Life is hard enough as it is; there is no need to complicate it further with dishonesty. Live by the truth and you feel liberated.

8 Tips on Using Credit Cards Wisely …

Credit cards can make life easier or completely miserable. It all depends on how you use them. Here are 8 tips on using credit cards wisely. Some of them I learned the hard way and others were passed on to me by friends and family. I hope your experience with credit cards hasn't been a negative one! Feel free to pass these on to someone who might benefit from them.

8. Keep your credit limit low

Keep your credit limit low

It's much too tempting to spend more money when you have a high line of credit. When monthly payments are made on time, many credit card companies offer to raise your line of credit; sometimes double the amount it currently is. If you aren't sure that you can handle this dramatic increase, then call the company and ask them to keep it at the lowest amount of credit possible.

7. Pay more than the minimum amount each month

If you only make a payment for the minimum amount required, it will be very difficult to get the card paid off. The longer you put of paying your credit card in full, the more you'll end up paying in the end. Interest is charged on any existing debt and this is a monthly occurrence. The sooner you are able to pay off your credit card, the less dough you'll have to shell out.

6. Try to use these cards for emergency purposes only

Making everyday purchases with a credit card will cause your credit limit to be reached in a hurry. It's hard for most people to save their cards for emergency use only. I know how tempting it can be to use it for fun things around the holidays. It's so easy to go into debt by buying lots of great presents for the family.
