7 Ways to Refresh Yourself at Work …

It's near the end of your work day and you still have several things left to do. But then that tired feeling hits you. You feel sleepy, sluggish, bored, and unmotivated; you don't feel like doing anything. You can slack off until the end of your day or you can try to restore enough energy to get your through the last couple of hours. If you choose to do the latter, then try these seven ways to refresh yourself at work.

1. Drink water

Drink water throughout the day to keep you alert. If you feel drained of energy, reach for a cool glass of water to fill you with a fresh feeling that can help revive your mind and body.

2. Have a conversation

I don't mean you should gossip or engage in idle chatter. Have a mentally stimulating conversation with a friend who doesn't have anything to do or is feeling the same way as you. A good conversation can help awaken your brain and can motivate you to start working.

3. Breathing exercises

Breathing exercises calm the mind and body. There are many breathing exercises on the internet that you can try. One easy breathing exercise is belly breathing. Inhale deeply, allowing your belly to expand without moving your chest. Exhale through pursed lips, deflating your belly. Do the belly breathing exercise 3 to 10 times.

8 Reasons ANTM Makes Me Sad …

8 Reasons ANTM Makes Me Sad …

As I’ve said many times, I really do love America’s Next Top Model. I’ve been a fan since the first season. However, there are things that have changed that I don’t really like. They are just little irksome things, but I decided to get them off my chest. Here are 8 reasons ANTM makes me sad…

1. No More Janice

Janice Dickinson was mean, full of herself, socially awkward (or else completely indifferent), and often completely inappropriate – and I miss her. She was brutal but she was honest. Paulina was brutal too but she wasn’t nearly as obnoxiously charming as Janice. Paulina was plain obnoxious and snarky, and I wonder if some of that wasn’t jealousy. Paulina’s departure makes me happy, but Janice’s still makes me sad.

2. No More Miss J

No More Miss J

I love Miss J. He’s got amazing legs. His snark is charming as well. Okay, sometimes it gets annoying, but for the most part it’s charming. And I think he made a great judge, because he is an expert at runway and could be the walking expert or something. That’s basically what he’s been this whole time, since Tyra mainly shows the models her work and then tells them just to feel their own ’cause signatures were only back in her day.

3. No More Paris

No More Paris

I get that you wouldn’t want to frequently repeat destinations in a show like this … but you’re on cycle 15, CW folks. You’re kind of running out of places to go. So go back to Paris! Or at least go somewhere in France! I would love to see some of the newer generations of girls, who have been watching the show, do their thing in Paris. I would love to see what kind of pictures you could get now that the show has a way bigger budget as well.

7 Ways to Cope with Airplane Skin …

What exactly is airplane skin? It’s skin that’s dry, itchy, and flaky from the incredibly dry air on the plane! It’s not just uncomfortable and itchy, it’s nasty-looking, too! But I can help. If you’re traveling by plane soon, pay close attention to this list.  Here are 7 ways to cope with airplane skin.

7. Facial brushes

Facial brushes

There are a wide range of facial brushes that are portable and can easily be carried on the plane with you. These brushes can help to rub away any dried skin on your face and they also help if you want to rub any moisturiser into your face whilst on the plane.

6. Use a lip balm around your mouth

Often with dry skin your lips become very dry too. If this is the case then make sure that you moisturise your lips regularly with a good lip balm. In my opinion sleeping with lip balm on will make your lips even softer and moist because it does not rub off easily.

5. Wear a clear hydrating mask

This is particular useful on long flights where the air will dry out your skin fairly rapidly. The mask can be applied on flight and in case you are worried about people seeing you, once the lights are turned down no one will notice anyway. In my opinion it is worth receiving a few odd looks from people if it means keeping your skin refreshed.

9 Ways to Reduce Your Paper Mountain …

Is your house filled with so many old newspapers that it looks like one of those crazy old people lives there? Is your office filled with piles of papers, most of which ceased to be relevant back when Reagan was still in power? Do you feel guilty that so many trees died because of you? Then it's time to use the following tips to sort out the paper mountain …

1. Don't Buy Newspapers

Many newspapers are available online for free these days, so why waste money buying your own copy (which will immediately be obsolete and be discarded)? Libraries also carry a selection of papers and magazines.

2. Print Less

Before you print something out, ask yourself if you really need a paper copy. If not, then leave that printer switched off! I manage very well without one, and go to the library on the rare occasions when I need to print something out.

3. Return Leaflets

Museums often give out leaflets and maps to visitors, and we usually end up taking them home with us, finding them weeks later scrunched up in a pocket or at the bottom of a bag. Instead, when you leave the museum return the leaflet for another visitor to use. Also, only pick up other leaflets to take with you if you are really interested.

8 Ways To Make Your Man Feel Like A Man …

If you have a man who treats you right, puts up with your PMS, brings you ice cream on a bad day and loves you with no makeup on, well then what do you do for him? Ladies, we should treat our man the way he deserves to be treated and make him feel like what he is- a man! Here are the top 8 ways to do just that.

1. Admire Him

The number one way to get a man’s attention? Show him a little admiration! Men love to be adored and admired. Don’t be fake and don’t layer it on. But do be genuine and real and let him know how important he is to you. Compliment him on things he’s good at and his physical qualities. He will soak it up like a sponge!

2. Brag On Him

Brag and boast on your honey to your friends and family. Do it in his presence for and even bigger effect! Don’t overdo it- your friends may feel like choking you if that’s all they ever hear about- but do make it a point to mention how well he plays guitar or his brainiac computer skills every now and then.

3. Ask For His Help

Men love to feel needed and especially by their sweetheart. Ask him to help you do something or figure out the answer to a problem. Ask him to show you how to do something or to give you advice for a tough situation. He will definitely deliver for you!

7 Twisted Books by Edward Gorey …

I'm not Goth or Emo, but I love Edward Gorey! If you've never seen any of his art, or read any of his books, you're in for a treat. He's got a wickedly sharp sense of humor, with a very dark twist and a Victorian feel. His books are hilarious, but when you laugh, you'll feel slightly guilty. Not sure what I mean? Here's a list of 7 twisted books by Edward Gorey… read a couple of them, and you'll know exactly what I'm talking about!

1. The Gashleycrumb Tinies

The Gashleycrumb Tinies
Price: $9.00 at amazon.com
This book begins: A is for Amy, who fell down the stairs; B is for Basil, assaulted by bears; C is for Clara, who wasted away, D is for Desmond, thrown out of a sleigh. That's right. This book is a primer that uses children who've met an unfortunate end as an illustration for each letter. If you love the book, you'll love the poster…

2. The Hapless Child

The Hapless Child
Price: $10.17 at amazon.com
Poor Charlotte Sophia leads a short and cruel little life, orphaned then continually picked on at the orphanage. When her father sets out to find her (he's not dead after all), he finds her… but is it too late? Will he even recognize the poor child when he finds her?

3. The Doubtful Guest

The Doubtful Guest
Price: $8.00 at amazon.com
This is my very favorite Gorey story, about an odd tennis-shoe and scarf wearing guest who simply won't leave. It's clever, and the illustrations are a riot. I love it! This would make a marvelous gift for the person on your list who already has everything.

7 Ways to Save Time This Holiday Season …

Ladies, gentlemen, readers at large, you and I are about to enter a time warp. The holiday season is the secret of time travel; where do all the hours go? There's never enough time to get everything done – unless you plan it out. That being said, I have 7 ways to save time this holiday season, just for you!

1. Make Lists

Make Lists

This is kind of mundane and boring during such an exciting season, but it is hugely important. If you keep up with what you have to get done, it's harder to procrastinate and harder to forget what you need to do. Don't go overboard, though, or soon you'll have to have a list listing all your other lists.

2. Print Your Cards

Print Your Cards

If you are able, you can save a lot of time by making and printing your own holiday cards. This might seem more time consuming but consider this: you will not have to spend time reading card after card to find one perfect for each recipient. Plus, you can make the design and the messages meaningful and personalized.

3. Cook Beforehand

Whenever possible, making parts of your holiday meal beforehand can save you lots of times. Desserts especially can be made well ahead of time, but other foods can be made earlier as well. This way, you will not be rushing around and feeling overwhelmed during the big holiday get together.

8 Household Appliances That Make Our Lives Easier …

Aren't the modern times just great? Electricity, technology, machines that get the hard or time consuming jobs done while we're taking our well-deserved nap or do other things machines just couldn't do. We are indeed very lucky to be living in the time when we have the freedom of choice and we do NOT have to wash our dishes or clothes by hand but we are FREE to do so if we want and have time to. Now, I'm sure you already have you favorite lifesaving gadgets so I won't advise you where or how to buy them. I'm going to list the ones that have saved me a huge amount of time and nerves and I hope you'll join me so we can make this list grow.

1. Washing machine

A washing machine has travelled a long way from its 250 years old ancestor, a manually operated wooden box. A more automatic version has been invented almost a century after that one by a man that thought this could be an ideal birthday present for his wife. I personally prefer jewelry or flowers but, hey, if she had preferred those too, we wouldn't have had this lifesaving machine. I mean, imagine washing all your family's clothes by hand!

2. Microwave oven

Easy to operate and time saving, this practical little gadget is ideal whether you need to heat up a small amount of previously prepared food or cook something from scratch. When introduced for the first time, a microwave oven has been a subject of a heated debate. Yup, it does emit a certain amount of radiation but its impulses are certainly not like UV or X rays and they can't cause cancer.

7 Toys Every Child Should Have …

These days, toys have become so electronic. Everything is computerized in some way or another. And though many toys claim to help children learn, more often than not (with a few exceptions) children are learning that they don’t really need to learn since computers do everything for them anyway. The average basic everyday smarts are being lost on today’s children. Here are some toys with an old fashioned twist that I believe every child should own.

1. ABC Building Blocks

These old favorites not only teach basic motor skills and the ability to build things, but also the very valuable ability to read and spell! Geranimals has a set that you can buy that costs less than $10. You should get a set and teach your children to spell!

2. Lego’s

I don’t think kids, especially boys, ever outgrow the ability to enjoy Lego’s! I remember growing up and playing Lego's with my family and having the time of my life! My siblings enjoyed it as much as me!

3. Toy Animals

Increase your child’s imagination and knowledge of animals with wither plastic or wooden animals of all kinds. Help them build farms of animals, or Noah’s Ark.

8 Tips on Saving Money for Christmas …

Christmas time is probably the most expensive time of the year for people; we have presents to buy, decorations and a mound of food and drinks to buy. Here are 8 tips on saving money for Christmas.

8. Find a second job

There are a lot of people that decide to look for a second job before Christmas so that they can earn some extra money to be able to afford everything. Normally this second job is quite easy and light hearted, and does not require much thinking. In my opinion it is worth trying all of the other tips first and if you find that you are still not saving much money for Christmas then consider finding a job to supplement your income.

7. Do not send Christmas cards

Do not send Christmas cards

You may not think that Christmas cards cost a lot but when you think about how much the card costs to buy, then you have to pay for a stamp to send the card. Once you add these costs up for how many people you have on your mailing list you will find that you are spending a lot of money. In my opinion friends and family will understand if you do not send them a car and they will probably be proud because you are saving money.

6. Ask family members to chip in with the costs

This is particularly important if you are holding the Christmas dinner at your house, you need to ask other family members that will be coming round to help out with the costs. You should probably ask them in advance because it is likely that they will need to save some money too.

7 Ways to Win a Girls Heart …

There has to be some guys looking through this blog site and I don't want to leave you out. Perhaps you are with a girl and you would like to win her heart? If so, then I am going to give you some advice. Take it from me, if you really want to, then you can win a girls heart. Some of the advice may be "original," but it should still work. Let me get started on 7 ways to win a girls heart …

7. When She Cries

When She Cries

There are numerous things that can make a girl cry. Heck, we cry even if there is nothing that is bothering us! When you see your girl crying, be sure to comfort her. Shoving her away and telling her to cut it out is not the wise guy choice with this one. Talk to her and tell her that everything will be okay.

6. Don't Lie to Her

Don't Lie to Her

You see, girls always sense when they are being lied to. If your girl doesn't sense the "lie," then she will in the future. Lies always have a tendency to catch up with you, no matter who you are and when it does, it will be much worse.

5. Tell Her How Special She is

Girls need to hear that they are special from time to time. Sure, in the past, you have told her this plenty of times before, but that does not mean that you can no longer tell her. If you don't remind her of your thoughts, then she may think those thoughts have disappeared.

7 Tips on How to Handle a Moody Person …

It can be really difficult when you come into contact with someone that constantly experiences mood swings. Here are 7 tips on how to handle a moody person.

7. Show the moody person what it is like to be on the receiving end

This is not to be done in a malicious way but sometimes showing the person exactly what it is like to be surrounded by a moody person all the time can help the situation. When that person sees what it is like they are able to see from your point of view.

6. Take time to relax

If you are constantly surrounded by a moody person, whether it is a family member or work colleague, it is important to take some time away from them. In my opinion, it is important that you make sure you relax and unwind away from them. This will help make sure that you look after yourself first.

5. Continue as you normally would

Continue as you normally would

Tip two mentions that you keep yourself happy and this tip adds on to this. You should try to act exactly how you normally would and do not pay their moodiness any attention. In my opinion in some cases people have a reason behind their behaviour but in others they behave in a way to get the most attention.

8 Tips on How to Build Trust on a New Relationship …

After a bad experience in a relationship, people have a hard time getting involved in another, building trust again becomes a routine job, many don't have the patience to take all from the start…

8. Don't Be False

Don't Be False

Pretending you are someone else will not do you any good at all, in long term, this is actually disastrous for a relationship. The best thing to do is to be yourself, be sincere about your actions and you will benefit later from this.

7. Be Patient

If you want to build a strong connection in time, don't rush your new mate, take things one at a time and have patience with the guy. Nobody is going to trust you fully from the beginning, confidence is built over time.

6. Don't Make False Accusations

If you're new life partner seems to have a passion for the opposite sex or doesn't call sometimes for no apparent reason, that doesn't mean he is cheating on you. Before judging the person for anything, you must have a real proof for your jealousy.

8 Tips on Posting Videos on Youtube …

If you are already familiar with Youtube, then the 8 tips on posting videos on Youtube will most likely not be new to you. However, if you are relatively new to this phenomenon, the following tips could help you to be successful in your postings. Youtube is a great source of entertainment and posting videos can actually be a lot of fun!

8. Shorter videos are sometimes better than longer ones

Shorter videos are sometimes better than longer ones

Of course, this will depend on whether or not you are making a How-To video. In most cases, a fast paced video that is short and to the point is going to get more views than a drawn out video that has a bit of lag here and there. If you are looking into posting a How-To video, then maybe try separating it out into multiple parts.

7. The title can say it all

The title can say it all

A catchy title might be the reason someone heads over to view your video. Make sure it is relevant to the video itself. It also helps to toss in a bit of humor, both in the title and the video. A lot of people are looking for a good laugh. If it's funny to them, they just might be willing to send a link to their friends who also might pass it on to friends of their own. Your video could end up going viral before you know it!

6. Post regularly

Post regularly

Making videos and posting them on a regular basis gives your followers something to look forward to. Letting too much time lapse between video postings can cause viewers to forget about you. If you are having trouble coming up with fresh new ideas on videos, then try posting video responses to friends' videos or popular videos on Youtube.

5 Things I Wanted to Be When I was a Little Girl…

December is always nostalgic for me. And with re-living past Christmases come the memories of my silly dreams  as a kid. Here are 5 things I wanted to be when I was a little girl. Don’t judge, okay?

1. Teacher

My mom is a university professor and up until I was 6 or 7, I assumed that we owned the school where she taught. Ridiculous, I know. The school was actually my playground and at a young age, I liked the idea of sitting and talking in front of a class. Strangely, public-speaking is one of my “fears” now.

2. Nun

I can actually remember people asking me what I wanted to be when I grow up and answering “Nun!” I had an older cousin who was training to be a nun back then and I liked that our other relatives were very nice to her. Not that they had reasons not be nice to me…
