| 10 Ridiculously Overpriced Items … Posted: 10 Jan 2011 11:10 AM PST We feel the need to buy an expensive, overrated, branded product here and there, right? After all, you only live once! We could have came up with a better way to use the money, of course, but it feels good to know that you have that thing you have been wishing for. Now, if somebody here thinks that's irrational shopping, they better get ready for a big surprise! Here's what rich people like to spend their pocket money on: 1. Diamond embellished bra
Photo Credit: homorazzi.com You think that diamonds look the best on a woman's finger? Wait until you see how they looks on her boobs. Okay, I know everything looks great on a Victoria's Secret angel but, hey, let me have it – my boobs would look just as good with 2900 diamonds on them! Sorry, my mistake, 2901! Now how could I forget to mention that huge 70-karat flawless diamond in the center? 2. Golden mouse
Photo Credit: JLP/Deimos/Corbis Whoa, this definitely gives the name "computer accessories" a whole different meaning. For just a little over one million you can chose to have this necessary computer component done in white or yellow gold – depending on your style, preferences and …other computer parts, maybe? The diamond design can be changed too, so, in case the custom pattern is not how you your ideal computer mouse, the company will be happy to personalize it as you wish. 3. The most expensive TV
Photo Credit: neurosoftware.ro There's nothing better than plasma, right? Well, actually there is – gold plasma. You know how it goes, you just have to have a new product to present every year. So, if you can't make any technical improvements, go ahead and just change the case and add some color to it. Or gold, gold and diamonds are always a good way to go and if you manage to incorporate a dead animal in the design, even better! Stuart Hughes has managed to do all this for Prestige so, in case you want to give your user experience a brand new makeover, and happen to have $2.3 million of spare change, PrestigeHD Supreme Rose Edition is the product for you! |
| 8 Signs He Is Not Ready to Commit … Posted: 10 Jan 2011 10:45 AM PST Knowing if your guy is ready to commit or not is always helpful in figuring out where your relationship is headed. The 8 signs he is not ready to commit that I've posted below are some common ones to look for. The simplest way to know is if he comes right out and tells you that he isn't, but a lot of guys aren't that straight forward. Not all the signs listed below are for sure, since men tend to handle their feelings in a completely different way than women. However, they do apply to most of the guys I know! 8. He's secretiveHaving little secrets from one another is only natural, but when he abruptly ends his cell phone calls the moment you walk into the room this can cause some concern. I guess a better word for this form of secretive would be 'sneaky'. A sneaky guy tends to make me wonder what he's trying to hide. It might be something that he feels ashamed about. It's hard to know unless he is willing to communicate as to why he's so secretive all the time. 7. You have no idea who his family isI dated this guy for close to three years and never got to meet any of his family members. Wait, I take that back. I did meet a brother at the grocery store, but he didn't introduce us and he only told me it was his brother after we got back home. Weird. Sure, there are some family members that tend to not be in the main loop as much as others, but I think being introduced to at least one parent is a reasonable request. 6. His friends are surprised when you meet themThis might not be that big of a deal, but I think it is when you've been dating this guy for 3 years. After this length of time his friends should at least know your name, right? If I am greeted with a shocked expression when my honey introduces me to his closest friends, then I feel like he doesn't talk about me at all. It only makes sense that if he's ready to commit that he would be telling his friends all about me. |
| Posted: 10 Jan 2011 10:36 AM PST A new season, a new spectrum of colors! I’m not much for changing my wardrobe with each new season, but adding to it? You bet! I love seeing which colors are in at any given time because, if I like them, I know there will be tons of new clothes available (and during post-holiday sales, no less!). If you share that quirk with me, I bet you’ll enjoy seeing these 7 winter color trends! 1. Black Is the New Black
Photo Credit: just believe ♥ Black is back, y’all, and with a vengeance. I don’t care about what anybody says. Neither pink nor beige nor white nor plaid is the new black; black will always be the new black. The only black. The classic black. Most of my clothes are black, what can I say? It’s slimming! 2. White after Labor Day
Winter white is going to be huge in the coming year, and it looks lovely. Maybe your shoes shouldn’t be white (I’ve never followed that whole bit, though; I’ll wear white shoes whenever I want to), but everything else can be. Satin white, off white, cream white, bridal white: there are more variations that you can shake a stick at, and they’re all hot this winter. 3. Vamp It Up in Red
To combat all those grey days, red is also hot – the hottest color in the winter spectrum, in fact. You have to be careful when wearing red though. A little bit goes a long way. Don’t pair a red dress with red shoes, for instance, that’s a little too much. You can also just accentuate with a scarf or a luscious red lip. |
| Posted: 10 Jan 2011 09:46 AM PST I have witnessed this many times before. A guy or girl get out of a relationship and immediately jump into another only to realize that they are not ready for a new relationship yet and what they have been doing is just using the individual. It is obvious, to everyone, that the other person is a rebound. Here are some signs that indicate a rebound so you can recognize it immediately. 8. You Constantly Think of Your ExEven when you are with the new person, you are still thinking of your ex. You can't seem to get him or her off of your mind, no matter what you do. You may also find yourself talking about him/her quite a bit. 7. DepressedWhenever you think of the times you and your ex had together (you do that a lot), you tend to get really depressed. You tend to miss the times the two of you had together. 6. You Regret the BreakupIn fact, you wish that you were able to control time. You want to go back in time and remain together. You wish that the breakup never happened in the first place as it tears you apart, even to this day. |

| 10 Signs That You May Suffer From Hurry Sickness … Posted: 10 Jan 2011 06:42 AM PST The modern world thrives on speed, instantaneity, and immediate results. We act as if we are running out of time so we move as quickly as possible. Even when it isn't necessary, we act, think, feel, and decide with such swiftness. It's as if we have been programmed to move fast and without true thought. This kind of condition, where one feels the need to rush without really having a reason, is called hurry sickness. This state of being seems like a normal adaptive mechanism to the busy world we live in today. However, as ordinary as hurry has come to be, hurry sickness is still a disease of the modern world. It wreaks havoc on the spirit, the mind, and the body. Hurry sickness can cause you chronic stress and many other health and emotional problems. Here are ten signs that you may have the hurry sickness. 1. You are in a constant state of rush and worryChronic rush and worry can manifest in various ways for different people. Normally, you can tell that you have these two conditions when you feel like you are always stressed, you worry needlessly about the future, you are anxious and always raring to go, and you can't sit still. Rushing and worrying have become second nature to you that it seems like you cannot get rid of these habits. Your rushing and worrying become so obvious that friends and family tell you to slow down and relax. 2. You feel that everything in life is urgentYou feel as if you always have to be available for people. When they call, you have to answer; when they email, you have to write back immediately; when they want to meet, you clear your schedule. Everything in life feels so urgent and important that you don't have the heart to disconnect and slow down. You have to do this and that right away or else you are wasting time. |
| Posted: 10 Jan 2011 02:52 AM PST I enjoy keeping up with trends and have decided to write a blog post on 7 trends to wear all year long. After the year is up, who knows, maybe some of these trends will still be in, but I do think they will last for at least one year … 7. Wide Leg Come BackWow, I thought these 70 pants were going to flourish forever. Just as I have come to the conclusion that they would never be back in style, these wide leg pants have come back and changed my mind. Today, they are as stylish as they ever were and I honestly believe they are safe to wear all year long. Do you like this style? 6. Short Shorts with a BlazerWhen you wear short shorts and toss on a preppy blazer, you will be sure to get some compliments. Try khaki colored shorts with a striped black and white shirt and a black preppy blazer – it's in all year long. 5. Backless DressI believe I just mentioned the backless dress in one of my other blogs and here I am again, mentioning it. The backless dress isn't going away and I think it is going to be trendy all year long. If you enjoy looking fashionable, then try a black backless dress with a pair of boots –adorable. |
| 7 Helpful Hints For Everyday Life … Posted: 10 Jan 2011 01:59 AM PST This is an article that everybody needs to read! Full of tips and advice for little things in everyday life, you’ll definitely get some great ideas! Sometimes, when you get a great piece of advice, or discover a great trick you just HAVE to share it with others and so read on for 7 helpful and great tips for everyday life! I’m sure you will be as pleased with the results as I am every time I use one of these tips! 1. Potty TalkDo you cringe at the thought of using public restrooms? I’ve had some pretty….eh, rough experiences myself! If you’re like me, you tend to avoid public restrooms like the plague! However, there are times when you just HAVE to use one, and here is a very helpful hint I’ve discovered. Use the first stall, it’s generally the cleanest! Most people avoid the first stall because they think it’s used the most. They head for the middle or last stalls, and as a result, those are the most populated! I know I myself have done that on many occasions. Another reason people use the back stalls more is because they have more privacy. But I’d rather have less germs, wouldn’t you? So dash into the first stall for a cleaner experience! 2. French Fry AdviceNo one likes eating cold french fries. At least no one I know! Here’s how to get hot, fresh french fries every time. Order your fries with NO SALT. The cooks always add some salt to the fries as they are being made, so if you order fries without salt, they have to make up a fresh batch! They don’t take very long to make and you can salt to taste at your table. How’s that for clever! 3. Stopping That StaticIt’s winter time, so static cling is inevitable, and it seems to be EVERYWHERE. It’s so annoying! I’ve found that the best tip for eliminating static cling is simple: it’s all in a tiny piece of fabric. That’s right, a dryer sheet! Carry a dryer sheet in your coat pocket or purse, and rub it wherever you get a little cling. Your hair, your clothes, your pantyhose-you name it, it works! Plus, your clothes and hair smell fresh afterwards, unlike those nasty anti-static sprays that never work anyway. I like to stick a dryer sheet inside all my coat pockets during the winter that way I always have one handy. Give it a try! |
| Posted: 10 Jan 2011 01:32 AM PST One of the best things about the coming year – if you’re into fashion, of course – is seeing what’s hot and what’s not. There are a lot of coming trends that I am not enthusiastic about at all, but as far as I’m concerned, these 7 styles for the new year are the cat’s pajamas! However, cat’s pajamas are not on the list. 1. UpdosGet ready to sweep up your hair, ladies. From buns to French twists to chignons to messy ponytails, updos will be all the rage. They evidently aren’t just for weddings and other formal occasions any longer. You can look forward to tons of new looks, and don’t worry, there will likewise be tons of guides and tutorials to show you how to do them. 2. VelvetIf you love soft luxury fabrics, then you are going to be very happy, because velvet is totally in for the new year. I’m not talking about velour which, though nice enough, has a tendency to look a little chintzy. I mean soft, serious velvet, rich fabrics that are decadent to the touch. You won’t want to overdo this style, don’t dress head to toe in velvet or anything, but a top, a skirt, a scarf – those pieces are perfect. 3. PurpleAh, the color purple. This makes me very happy. You will see this in clothing, accessories, shoes, makeup, and purses, in all its various shades. Again, you’ll want to be careful with this one. Speaking from experience, dressing head to toe in purple is not a good idea unless you want to hear a bunch of Barney and/or Tinky Winky jokes. However, it makes a great accent. The eye makeup and lipsticks in these colors are particularly lovely. |
| 7 Tips on Getting Back to the Grind After a Vacation … Posted: 10 Jan 2011 01:20 AM PST Vacations are wonderful things, but they are sometimes hard to give up. The following 7 tips on getting back to the grind after a vacation might be helpful. Each of these tips offers a solution for the dilemma of dealing with work after having a relaxing time away. Coming back to reality and jumping into work with both feet first isn’t possible for some people. Take a look at these tips and see if they help you out. 7. Take a break every now and thenYou can’t expect to dive right back into the scheme of things the moment you get back. I know some workaholics are able to pull this one off, but I have a very hard time doing it. Take frequent breaks for the first couple of days back to work. These breaks don’t have to entail getting up and taking an hour break down to the nearest store or anything like that. They might be a trip to the water fountain or just standing up and stretching for a few minutes to get the blood moving again. It’s hard to sit still without getting a bit stir-crazy after being gone on vacation. 6. Rest up the day before you return to workThis is easier to do when you return from vacation at least a day before you have to show up at the office. It's better if you can allot yourself even more than a single day. A few extra days is actually better; one to get unpacked, one to get ready for work, and one to relax and do nothing at all. Being fully rested when heading back to work always helps me remain better focused on work, instead of getting grumpy at the slightest things. |
| 7 Perfect Christmas Memories … Posted: 10 Jan 2011 01:03 AM PST Christmas evokes so many memories; it is difficult to chose just one favorite. While there are several that stick out in my mind, I still could never pick just one favorite. I want to share all my memories with you, but I can't. There would not be enough time or space. So, I tried to narrow my list and here is what I came up with. 1. Special BooksEvery year, I buy a new Christmas book for each of my children. We try and read them all every year, but now, we have accumulated so many, and we never have time to read them all. But we have our favorites. Just the other day, one of my older children asked me if I would read her favorite book from her childhood. It is a special memory I will never forget. 2. Special MoviesMy family has Christmas movies we dare not miss! We have so many we start watching movies in November. They bring back memories, even though we practically have the movies memorized. 3. Special MusicWhile Christmas songs rarely change, my family has certain CD's we listen to every year. A few of hymns, a few are the typical Christmas music, and a few are just down right quirky. But it is a tradition and we make memories every year, dancing around the Christmas tree and the Christmas party hop. Everyone dancing merrily in the new, old- fashioned way. |
