7 Most Anticipated Albums of 2011 …

Oh yes, it looks like 2011 is when lots of new albums are coming out and you know that I cannot wait. I absolutely love music – it's what makes the world go around. It takes my bad mood and turns it into a good mood. It also helps me write – when I write – I like listening to music. I often like to make music of my own. Mind you, I enjoy many different types of music – even music I do not understand. I am going to give you 7 most anticipated albums of 2011. For some of these, I am no sure of the songs that will be on the album, but I know they are coming out with a new one in 2011. If I know the songs that will be on there, I will list them. I do ask you that if you know the songs on an album to please list them in the comment area.

7. Adele – 21

Adele is not that bad. Her track to her new album includes:

Rolling In The Deep
Rumour Has It
Turning Tables
Don’t You Remember
Set Fire To The Rain
He Won’t Go
Take It All
I’ll Be Waiting
One And Only
Lovesong
Someone Like You

6. Lady Gaga's Born This Way

I am really determined to see where she is going to go on her third album that she plans on releasing this year. I am wondering if she is going to keep her little monsters with this 3rd album. Somehow, I think we are going to like her upcoming album.

5. Chris Brown – F.A.M.E

Yes, it's about time for Chris Brown to release a new album, don't you agree with me? I think F.A.M.E is going to be an important album. I am also curious if this is going to continue his momentum. Rumors have said that Drake is going to make an appearance in it. We will have to watch and see.

10 Reasons I Like Cataclysm …

World of Warcraft is one of the most loved massive multiplayer's out today and it's still amazes me. Besides the long patch and large game file, the game is the best. The new expansion has finally came out and it's better than the last expansion. Cataclysm is the latest expansion of the game and I would like to give you 10 reasons I like cataclysm….

10. Goblins

The new expansion allowed you to be the new race of goblins. The goblin known as the money greedy loving race they are today is now a playable character in the World of Warcraft. They love money and technology. They even have a neat sport car for a mount! They also have a neat rocket propelled belt that makes you jump super far!

9. Worgen

The Worgen was the best thing they brought to World of Warcraft for the alliance side that is. The playable race has plenty of new features that they can do. Like turn into human or turn into their own mount. Level 20 you get your first mount and that is yourself. You also get fast speed at starting level. This makes plenty of additions to each class for speed and getting away from enemies.

8. Torn World

The new World of Warcraft has changed altogether and for the best. New quest and much more were added to the game. Also, the quests have more interactions. The barren land also, was changed and many home lands for certain areas were too.

7 Good Reasons to Get a Divorce .. …

7 Good Reasons to Get a Divorce .. …

Sometimes, when people get a divorce, I believe they really take it to the extremes and get a divorce for the wrong reason. If you believe you can work things out in your marriage and the love is still there, then you should go for it – working things out is much better than getting a divorce. However, I understand that there are some out there that just have to get a divorce and they have a good reason to do so. While I do not recommend divorce as the first option, I am going to give you 7 good reasons to get a divorce …

7. Cheating

Oh yes, cheating is definitely a reason to get a divorce. Of course, some people are able to pull through and get over this big bump in the road. However, there are others that are not able to get over the fact that they were cheated on.

6. Lying

Now, I am not talking about those little white lies here and there, while they do add up, they are not a reason for divorce – I am talking about those big lies. For example, you telling your spouse you were at work when you were really at the bar on numerous occasions.

5. You Don't Get Along

Sometimes, people were not meant to be together. Sometimes, people just rush into marriage too fast and don't realize they do not get along. I rushed into marriage, but 7 years later, we're still getting along. I guess that was luck. It all depends on the person.

8 Everyday Dresses for Any Woman …

Sometimes it seems like there are way more evening dresses than there are daytime dresses. It’s easy to figure out what to wear out after dark, but choosing an everyday dress, whether it’s for work or just hanging out, can be a little more difficult. I am pretty picky about dresses, so these 8 everyday dresses for any woman are more to my taste – but hopefully you’ll like them, too!

1. A. P. C. Belted Cotton Smock Dress

A. P. C. Belted Cotton Smock Dress
Price: $235.00 at net-a-porter.com
Tailored dresses are always great for a daytime look. I love dresses that look sort of like short, flippy little trench coats. This one has subtle checks, so it can work for the workplace as well. With a dress like this, you definitely want it to fit well – neither too large nor too small. It needs to be fitted, but not incredibly tight.

2. Double Knit Puff Sleeve Dress

Double Knit Puff Sleeve Dress
Price: $19.80 at forever21.com
Puffed sleeves are actually really popular right now. Normally I am not a huge fan of the puffy look, but I think the sleeves on this dress look really cute. This is the kind of dress that is great for a day in the city, going shopping or out to lunch, and it can look good in the office as well. The skirt is subtly pleated, which is also a great feature on any everyday dress.

3. London Times by Maggy London Denim Dress

London Times by Maggy London Denim Dress
Price: $98.00 at shop.nordstrom.com
I’m usually not into denim, either, unless it’s on my jeans, but I really like this dress. It, too, has a sleekly tailored look, which is ideal for a daytime dress. The denim is dark, which is one of the reasons I don’t mind it, and that neckline is just gorgeous. It’s not too short, but at the same time, it still shows off the gams a little.

8 Pretty Floral Frocks …

I'm a girlie-girl, and as such one of my favorite things to wear is dresses, and even better are floral print dresses. They're so pretty, so versatile, and so easy to accessorize! With spring on the way (soon, I hope) I've been looking for some new floral dresses to add to my closet, and I've found so many I love… I had to share them with you! Here are 8 pretty floral-print frocks.

1. Flora Luna Dress

Flora Luna Dress
Price: $57.99 at modcloth.com
There aren't many florals I can wear year-round, with Michigan winters being what they are. But this lovely dress is perfect for layering with a cardi, scarf, tights and boots in winter and flats or sandals in the summer.

2. Down to the Floor-al Dress

Down to the Floor-al Dress
Price: $59.99 at modcloth.com
Just beautiful! This long and lean maxi sheath is stunning, with pink and purple flowers against a blue-grey background. I'd wear this with flip flops and a sun hat for a casual day, or with strappy sandals and an armload of vintage silver bangles for dress.

3. Itty Bitty Buds Dress

Itty Bitty Buds Dress
Price: $164.99 at modcloth.com
You'll feel floaty and frilly all day in this lovely slip of a dress. It's made of soft silk with a pose of tiny flowers scattered across it, with layers of sheer chiffon at the neckline and waist to add visual interest as you walk. Pair with strappy earth-tone sandals and an antique lace shawl in olive for a date night he'll remember always.

9 Date Ideas When You’re on a Budget …

9 Date Ideas When You’re on a Budget …

Sometimes, you want to have a really nice date but, for whatever reason, you simply don’t have a lot of money to spend on it. You might be saving up for something else, you might be short at the time – there are tons of reasons you might be on a budget, but that doesn’t mean your love life has to suffer for it. Whether you’re going on a first date or simply want to spend some time with your partner or spouse, here are 9 date ideas when you’re on a budget.

1. Scout a flea market

Even if you’re going out with a girl or guy who hates to shop, exploring flea markets and other open air markets can be lots of fun. You never know what you’ll find, and it’s actually a blast to seek out all kinds of funky items together. There’s no saying you have to buy anything either – but if you find something you like, this is one place where your purchases will probably still fit into your budget.

2. Do dinner and a movie at home

Going out to dinner and then hitting a movie is a date staple, but it can get expensive. Depending on the kind of restaurants you favor, the movie can be more expensive than dinner! So, try getting take out or making something fun and easy at home, and watch a movie on the couch, just the two of you. You won’t have to pay a fortune for popcorn, miss a climactic scene if you have to hit the powder room, or deal with the noisy people behind you!

3. Sit together in a bookshop

This is a favorite of the Better Half and a I, and it’s pretty much free – unless you’re like me and can’t go to a bookstore without buying a little something. However, going to your local Barnes and Noble’s or independent bookshop and sitting together while you read is a great way to spend time together. You can read each other passages, share books, drink some coffee, and just be together. Actually, here’s a two-for: hitting a coffee shop with your favorite books is a great, inexpensive date idea as well.

7 Memoirs I Am Dying to Read …

7 Memoirs I Am Dying to Read …

As you may know by now, I am a huge fan of nonfiction book, and memoirs are among my favorite. I like to read things right from the … horse’s mouth, or something. You get what I mean, right? Anyway, there are tons of memoirs I’m looking forward to checking out, some of them quite new, some of them a few months old, and so on. Either way, I’ve narrowed the list down from "tons," to share these 7 memoirs I’m dying to read.

1. Just Kids by Patti Smith

Just Kids by Patti Smith
Price: $6.98 at amazon.com
I love Patti Smith and I love Robert Mapplethorpe. I’ve been excited to read this since I first read an excerpt early last winter. I’ve heard some really great things that make me think it’s going to be a winner, but as yet I haven’t even allowed myself to read any reviews, just so nothing gets ruined!

2. The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls

The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls
Price: $9.00 at amazon.com
This is one of my favorite types of memoirs, in that it follows the author’s life. Specifically, Walls is the daughter of nomads, each with their own issues that will inevitably affect Jeanette herself. Her story appears to be controversial in many ways – and what can I say, I enjoy controversy in my reading. I don’t know what it is about liking to read what other people have gone through, except that part of me always celebrates because, obviously, they are now telling their story.

3. Dirty Secret by Jessie Sholl

Dirty Secret by Jessie Sholl
Price: $8.61 at amazon.com
This book is actually called Dirty Secret: A Daughter Comes Clean about Her Mother’s Compulsive Hoarding. Okay, this is going to sound horrible. But you know all those hoarding shows? Not just the one on A&E, but Animal Hoarders, as well – I love those. I confess. It’s probably because I half suspect that, if given half a chance and a quarter of room, I could easily start hoarding. I’m an incorrigible pack rat. But anyway! This chronicles the tale of a bystander, who still gets sucked into the disease.

7 Things You CAN do for Your Man …

7 Things You CAN do for Your Man …

I often make male-female jokes and some of my posts here really sounded like I see our dear male part of the population as a necessary inconvenience. But, let's put all those jokes, which I hope guys understand, aside for now and be brutally honest – We CAN and we should try to be a little bit more nicer to them. I totally agree with the fact that not all guys deserve that, but again, I'm sure you wouldn't waste your time with a man that doesn't appreciate all the nice things you're doing for him. So, here are some things you can do for your man:

1. You can compliment him

Men like compliments too so, if you think he looks great just tell him that. Complimenting a man on his looks does feel a little bit strange because we got used to receiving compliments rather than giving them and we are usually too embarrassed to speak our minds in front of them. However, next time you want to say "That shirt looks great!", think about adding "on you!" and you'll see what I'm talking about. A great shirt is a great shirt in general but a shirt that looks great on him, now that's something. And if you keep adding compliments and commenting why is that so, you'll actually have the chance to see his facial expression go from slightly shy but satisfied to proud and utterly happy.

2. You can make him a meal

Let me put it like this – I like to cook and I'd rather have us eating home cooked meals than those chemical-rich pre-packed mixtures or takeout. He cooks for me, I cook for him and when we don't have time for that we'll eat the aforementioned "junk" and comment on how good it is. That's just how it goes. Now, why am I listing this as one of my points? Because some women these days feel like cooking for your man means you're old fashioned in that bad way and I've met plenty of women that refuse to do this because they are afraid he'll get used to it and start insisting that this is how it should be. So, if you want to cook and like to cook, don't be afraid to do it. Or, if you're already doing it, don't let your environment tell you what you should and shouldn't do. He will certainly appreciate the fact that you sacrificed the little free time you have to make something tasty just for him and he should return the favor anyhow he can.

9 Tips to Help you Quit Smoking …

9 Tips to Help you Quit Smoking …

We all know that smoking isn’t good for us. It’s a proven fact that smoking is a leading cause in lung cancer, among many other health issues. But as with other drugs, they are terribly addicting. So how does one manage to break free from the hold that a smoking habit has on someone?

1. Believe That You Can

The first step is just believing that you have the willpower within you to quit. So, before ever laying down the cigarette, search deep within yourself and find that willpower, find the reasons that you, yourself, know you need to quit smoking. Is if for your spouse? Your kids? Your own health? Your job? Your money situation? All of the above? Once you have came to a realization, and believe that you can quit, you are ready to make the next step.

2. Get Support

Though you have the strength and willpower within you to quit, encouragement is very necessary in the beginning of breaking a habit. It is vital to the outcome of your new journey to have the support of friends and family. If you have smoking friends, ask them to join you in your quest for freedom – and if they can’t, ask them to at least respect you and not smoke around you. True friends will do all they can to help you overcome your addiction.

3. Start Exercising

Believe it or not, exercising will actually aid you in the process of breaking your smoking habit. As one site said, “Exercise is simply incompatible with smoking.” For many smokers, the act of smoking is a stress-reliever. Exercise does the same thing – only having positive effects on your body rather than negative. Talk to your doctor before starting an exercise regimen.

7 Things That Make Me Laugh … …

Living with a comedian and teenagers with an odd sense of humor, I always find myself laughing at something. Besides the silly clan of individuals I live with, there are also other things that I find humorous. Here is a list of 7 things that make me laugh. It's always good to know what makes you happy, don't you think?

7. The way my rabbits chase each other around the pen

I have three rabbits that live in a giant outdoor pen. There is an 8 foot fence surrounding the pen and large flat rocks of assorted sizes inside. Dirt, straw, and the occasional branch for the rabbits to gnaw on are the main components of this large rabbit pen. On cool days and early in the evening, the rabbits can be seen chasing one another around the pen at full-speed. They leap into the air off of rocks and land next to one another. It's amazing at how high they can jump when startled as well!

6. Humorous bumper stickers

There truly are some ingenious ones out there. I love seeing funny ones while I'm waiting for the stop light to turn green. One of my favorites is: 'An Apple a day keeps Windows away'. I get a kick out of bumper stickers that use play on words to create a humorous saying. One that my neighbor has on her car says, 'Wrinkled was not one of the things I wanted to be when I grew up!'. This one always makes me giggle when I see it.

5. Pictures of animals in silly poses

A few different websites have cats, dogs, and other animals doing their normal animal things, but sometimes the camera catches them in the perfect position to make the picture even more interesting. Some examples of what I'm referring to can be found on Lolcats on the icanhascheezburger website. These are always able to make me smile and sometimes they are funny enough that I send them in an email to family and friends!

8 Ways To Be Comfortable In Your Skin …

The French have a saying 'être bien dans sa peau'. This means to be comfortable in your skin, or at ease with yourself. We spend so much time wanting to look different, but it's so much better to be comfortable with who you are. Here are some ways to achieve that.

1. Accept Yourself

Why do we find it so hard to accept ourselves as we are? I know it's taken me many years to do so! But I'm much happier for it. I might not be perfect, but who is? If other people don't like me, that's their problem – I'm perfectly content with myself!

2. Focus On Positives

How much time is wasted thinking 'if only I was taller/better-looking/slimmer/looked like …'? Funny thing is that other people generally don't notice our perceived imperfections! So stop fretting about the size of your nose and instead focus on what you like about yourself, such as your lovely smile or colour of your hair.

3. Enjoy Maturing

Youth doesn't last forever, so don't waste time wishing you could have it back. So what if you're not as fresh-faced as you were when you were 20? There are lots of positives to maturing, so make the most of it and enjoy the advantages that it brings.

10. Love is Blind

Phil was a handsome man who got dressed up in his finest clothes and headed to the pub down the road. He noticed a woman sitting at the end of the bar who wouldn't stop staring at him. Flattery took over and Phil headed over to talk to the lady. He made his voice deep and sultry and said, "I'll do anything you wish, beautiful lady, but on one condition."

The woman had to shake herself out of her trance and then asked, "What is your condition?"

Phil says, "You must tell me your wish in only 3 words."

The woman paused and then gave Phil a slip of paper with her address scrawled on it. She then leaned forward with her eyes closed and whispered, "Clean my house."

10 Ways to Get Out of a Date …

10 Ways to Get Out of a Date …

It's bound to happen, that thing we all dread most about the dating scene – an unwanted date. Perhaps you don't think it can't happen to you, but if you stay in the dating scene long enough it will indeed happen to you. And then all you will think of is how to break the date without hurting anyone's feelings. What follows are 10 classic (and some not-so-classic) excuses that will get you out of an unwanted date.

1. Claim to be sick

You don't need to get overly dramatic and feign something like dysentery, simply and with sincerity say that you have fallen ill and will be unable to keep the date. Make your story simple and believable; the more complex the tale the less likely it is to be believed.

2. Work late

To use this excuse to the best advantage, pick a reason for cancelling that is appropriate to your job. This is a great excuse, unless of course your date has access to your workplace and can check up on you. If you are not at work there are likely to be very bad feelings and you will end up looking like a lying jerk.

3. Emergency in the family

An emergency in the family has ridded many an unwanted date and left them none the wiser. Call your date and let him know you have a family emergency or, go on the date and have a friend's phone to alert you to the "emergency." Most likely he will not ask particulars but just in case, be prepared with a reasonable story that is impossible to check on.

7 Things I Need to Throw Out of My Wardrobe …

Every so often, you need to clean out your closet and make space for your new purchases, but how do you decide which items to get rid off? Alternatively sometimes you need to clean out your closet so that you realize that you do not have anything wearable in your wardrobe. Whatever your reason, here are 7 things you need to throw out of your closet without further delay.

1. Anything that hasn't been worn in 12 months

If you haven't worn it in the last year, you're probably never going to wear it again. Whether the color has faded, its become to tight, it's become to loose or it has lost shape, that garment is headed for the dump pile. So stop reminiscing on how much you used to wear it and move along.

2. The one-time wear outfits

We all have a couple of one-time wear outfits. It could be the bridesmaid gown you wore for your best friend's wedding or the Hawaiian costume you donned one crazy New Year's Eve. It's time to send these culprits away because let's face it, you're never going be wearing it again.

3. The stained and ripped 'seen better days' tops

Sometimes you hang on to clothes because they are comfortable or flattering or you have happy memories associated with them. However if they have rips, stains or other discolorations, you have to acknowledge, you can't be seen in public with them. It's time to say good bye.

8 Steps to Throwing a Fantastic Party …

Everyone loves a good shindig, but planning a gathering can be a tricky. There's literally nothing worse that a party that won't get started, so here's a list of pointers to ensure yours is a total success … here are 8 steps to throwing a fantastic party.

1. Objectives

Begin with a game plan: ask yourself what you want from this party. Is it a sophisticated soiree, or more of a backyard bash? Are you serving dinner or simply supplying nibbles? Will there be wine or is this going to be a keg kind of event? Once you've figured out these basic details, write them down. Now that you have a blueprint of what you want on paper, try not to lose sight of this original idea as planning goes ahead.

2. Guest List

Having figured out the foundation for your event, you need to decide how many guests you're going to invite. Remember ladies, if you do decide to do a pricey dinner, don't bully yourself into inviting people just because you feel guilty! Remember, a good party is run according to a strict account … which brings us to the next point.

3. Budget

Please girls, don't underestimate the importance of a strict budget. Remember, a party is supposed to be fun, and spending all your grocery money on fancy champagne won't be enjoyable when the glasses are empty and you're out of cash.

10 Lovely Skeleton Key Pieces to Admire …

…and perhaps buy if you fancy a few of them. If you like romance and all things Victorian, skeleton keys are probably things that you find too hard to resist. I feel the same. And with this collection, my obsession may be reaching new heights.

1. Antique Key Necklace

Price: $18 at shanalogic

We start, of course, with a piece of jewelry. There are many skeleton key necklaces out there but this one is special. The addition of filigree charms gives this an old world feel. The ruby swarovski crystal gives it that unique element, too.

2. Lock & Key Hand Mirror

Price: $32 at anthropologie

Beautiful! I can imagine a princess from one of our beloved fairytales using this mirror to gaze at her perfect curls or adjust the tiara on her head. Is it me or do skeleton keys and filigree details perfect together?

3. In a High Key Tea Towel

Price: $24.99 at modcloth

Yes, even your tea towels can give off that Victorian vibe. This towel features gold and silver keys printed on linen. You can use it to dry dishes or for all-around kitchen cleanup. Of course, you can also frame the towel and have yourself a pretty wall art.

4. Key Bracelet

Price: $15 at urban outfitters

Not all skeleton key accessories are for girly-girls. This leather and key-embellished bracelet is one fantastic example. I bet even a guy can rock this.

5. Skeleton Key Bottler Opener

Price: $12 at urban outfitters

With this price, I suggest you buy one and turn it into a multi-purpose necklace. That head is much too pretty to waste. You should not let this sit in your kitchen day in and day out; it will make a gorgeous, albeit long, pendant, really!

7 Ways to Tell the Flu from the Cold …

7 Ways to Tell the Flu from the Cold …

Late August to early June is what doctors and researcher call "cold and flu season." It's not the chill in the air that causes them, but rather the close confines and dry air that spreads the viruses that cause them. Aside from that, the cold and the flu are very different, and knowing which is which is very important when deciding whether or not to seek medical treatment, or to stay home, drinks plenty of fluids, and wait it out. Here are 7 ways to tell the flu from a common cold.

1. Fever

If you're suffering from a cold, you may be running a low-grade fever, but if you have the flu, your fever may be higher. If your temperature is more than 101 degrees, you should seek medical attention. Also, please note: never, EVER, give a child with a temperature aspirin, as it may cause Reyes syndrome.

2. Cough

If you have a mild or wet, hacking cough, chances are, you have a cold. But if your cough is persistent, extreme, painful, or if it appears to be worsening, you may have the flu, or your cold has worsened into another ailment, like bronchitis, instead.
