| 7 Facts on the Young and the Restless … … Posted: 13 Mar 2011 11:44 AM PDT I will tell you right now, I have never been into soap operas, because I don't like drama. However, The Young and the Restless is the one soap I like watching, which I started watching as a little girl with my mom. Let me give you 7 facts on the Young and the Restless right now … 7. When it All StartedThe Young and the Restless all started in the year 1973 on CBS. Since then, it has aired over eight thousand episodes. It was created by the Late William J. Bell. The Young and the Restless takes place in Genoa City, Wisconsin. Since the year 1988, it has been the highest dated soap on television. This is the only soap opera I watch and it's understandable why it is the highest rated daytime soap. 6. Victoria's First HusbandI am going to take a step back and remind you of Victoria Newman's first husband. Her first husband was Ryan McNeil. She married him when she was sixteen years old. Years later, she married Cole Howard, but he was killed. She then married Brad and then JT and is now married to Billy Abbott and I believe they make a great couple. 5. Billy Abbott's MotherBilly Abbott's mother is Jill. Jill had Billy with John Abbott. For some time, it was thought that Jill was the biological daughter of Katherine Chancellor. However, in 2010, it was revealed that Jill is the daughter of Neil Fenmore, who is Lauren's father. |
| 8 Cute Coats by Tulle Clothing … Posted: 13 Mar 2011 11:37 AM PDT We're right in the middle of winter here in Michigan, and it is freezing. Suddenly the light jackets and cute coats I had for fall aren't warm enough, and I need something new. Actually, that's something of an excuse to buy a new one… pretty convincing, isn't it? I've found some cute coats by Tulle that I really, really want… but since I have an entire closet full already, I've had to get creative in my rationalizations for even window shopping. Once you see them, though, you'll understand why. Here are the 8 most adorable coats by Tulle! 1. Fairground Memories Coat
 2. Stay or Go Jacket
 3. Roving Reporter Coat

| 7 Things I Dislike About Romantic Reality Shows … Posted: 13 Mar 2011 11:20 AM PDT There is no doubt that reality shows have become very popular in the recent past. People have practically become addicted to them. While there are a few reality shows I like, I draw the line at romantic reality shows. Here are all the things I dislike about romantic reality shows. 1. Love for saleOne of the things I dislike about romantic reality shows the most is that they give me the feeling that love is indeed for sale. I find it hard to believe that contestants are actually expected to fall in love with each other on shows. It is certainly not my idea of love. 2. Lack of spontaneityIn my opinion, falling in love is a very spontaneous reaction, if it is not something that builds up over a long period of time. That is what most people call 'falling in love at first sight'. In romantic reality shows, there is no spontaneity on behalf of the contestant who is choosing a partner. 3. Calculated decision is not loveWhen one looks at everything from body type to color of the hair as well as efficiency in a number of skill when choosing a partner, it is a calculated decision, not love. I find it abhorring that they are calling such a calculated decision love. |
| Posted: 13 Mar 2011 11:19 AM PDT We’d like to wish a very happy birthday to mega-hottie Emile Hirsch!
The gorgeous star of such movies as “Speed Racer,” “Milk,” and “Into the Wild” turns 26 today. He’s one of my favorite actors, and a glance at one of his photos, and a peek at his impressive filmography will tell you why. He’s handsome, talented… and I can’t wait to see him in “Hamlet,” which is in production now. I wonder which role he’ll play? Happy birthday, and many more, Emile! |
| 7 Inspirations from Me for Those Being Bullied … Posted: 13 Mar 2011 10:59 AM PDT I have never been a bully in my life. I don't like talking bad about someone and I certainly am not going to be the one to push someone over the edge. Do you know how many people kill themselves each year because of bullies? Do you realize how many people sink into depression because of bullies? You bullies should be ashamed of yourself! For those of you that are being bullied, I want to tell you that you are not alone. Let me give you 7 inspirations from me for those being bullied. 7. Don't Let Them See That it Bothers YouWhen that bully sees that they are bothering you, they will have so much power. They will learn your weaknesses and pick at it until you pop. That is how a bully works – so, you should never let them see that something bothers you, no matter how much it does. Just smile at them and laugh. 6. Talk to Someone About the ProblemIf you have a problem with bullies, then talk to someone about the problem. Perhaps, just talking about the problem to someone will help get it off your chest. I am here, if you ever need to talk. 5. Don't Try to Change YourselfWho cares what someone says! I repeat it again – who cares what someone says! Who cares if you dress different, act different or even smell different from someone else. So what if you do not wear the name brand clothing – so what if your mom or dad isn't a doctor and so what if you do not live in a big house. You should not try to change yourself – you should be who you are to be and be HAPPY about it. |
| 7 Ways to Survive a Family Reunion … Posted: 13 Mar 2011 10:55 AM PDT Family reunions are a double edged sword. Sometimes you love them because you can catch up with long distance family members, but other times you despise them because all your crazy relatives are gathered in one unfortunate space! If you are looking for excuses to ditch your upcoming family event, it is your lucky day. Here are 7 ways to survive a family reunion (and no, staying home isn't one of them!). 1. Go In With a Positive AttitudeThere is no point in you going to the family reunion if you are going to be in a foul mood. Your mood will transfer to the rest of the guests and it will just stir up more drama than is necessary. Be positive and hopefully the people around you will be upbeat too. 2. Avoid a Family FeudThe best way to avoid family squabbles at the reunion is by keeping the warring parties separate. If you are the one who has a problem with a cousin or sibling, you should avoid them. If you know your aunts have been bickering lately, than you and your cousins should try to keep them separated. 3. Bring Lots of FoodFood always makes the reunion easier. Not only does the food distract people, getting into a fight with someone about something that happened twenty years ago is much harder to do when everyone has their mouth full of food. Serving food throughout the entire day is one of the best ways to advert an argument. |
| 7 Things to Ask Yourself Before Dating a Guy … Posted: 13 Mar 2011 10:53 AM PDT When I first started noticing a guy and we gradually got close enough for the talk to begin about us actually dating, there were always some questions that passed through my mind. If you've recently found yourself in this situation or are scared that something like this might be about to occur, then you might want to take a look at the list below. Here are 7 things to ask yourself before dating a guy. 7. Do I really want to date this guy?Sometimes you feel attracted to a guy without really wanting to date him, but somehow you get sucked into a relationship. Before you start dating, ask yourself this question to make sure you really do want to do more than just stare at him when he walks by. I've found that occasionally it's fun to stick with the staring and nix the dating. 6. What do I do if he turns out to be a weirdo? What if you like this guy so much that you are overlooking little quirks he has that should be raising red flags for you? This guy might turn out to be a completely different person once you spend more time with him. Keep that I mind when you are thinking about dating a new guy. 5. Should I introduce him to my friends first?I find that friends can be excellent critics, especially when it comes to judging someone you're dating or about to start dating. Take your possible boyfriend-to-be and see what your friends think. They might be able to see something you are missing, due to that whole 'love is blind' thing. If he's the real deal, then they will most likely tell you to go for it. |
| Posted: 13 Mar 2011 10:41 AM PDT If I spend $200 on a pair of boots I want to know if I got the genuine article and not a pair of fakes. Sometimes it is tempting to buy a fake or reproduction and if you make that choice then you live with the consequences. Buying online on auction sites, you have to be careful to make sure you are buying what you are looking for. I happily bought my Uggs from the Uggs shop in London so I know I have the real deal but I'm aware there is a fantastic trade in boots claiming to be Uggs on eBay and to the uninitiated they may not know exactly what to look for. Here's how to tell the rubbish from the good. 1. Country of OriginIf the seller is claiming they are made in Australia or New Zealand, the Uggs are fake. Uggs are made only in China under licence from Deckers Int'l. 2. The BoxEvery new pair of Uggs has a box. The Lid is separate and features the Ugg sun logo. The side of the lid will have www.uggaustralia.com written. 3. The Care LeafletEach pair comes with a cream coloured card and leaflet. The paper and card is top quality not flimsy low grade paper and certainly isn't a photocopy. If you are unsure rub your finger over the Ugg lettering – it should feel slightly raised. |
| 7 Signs of a True Friendship … Posted: 13 Mar 2011 10:35 AM PDT I've written a lot of posts about foes and, since those people don't really deserve to be talked about anymore, this post is going to be about the ones that should be mentioned and praised every day – real friends! They are out there and I'm sure each and every one of you has at least one, however, these a fore mentioned foes often distract us, making it hard for us to see who are real friends are. So, so can e sure your friendship is real if your friend is… 1. Happy for youIf you are successful, happily married (or in love) and can afford to buy whatever you please, you can count on a lot of jealous, hateful comments coming from people who used to be all nice and sweet. However, only a true friend will be truly happy and interested to know more about your successes and share those happy moments. A true friendship is the one where friends keep their fingers crossed for each other and do whatever they can to contribute to the positive outcome. 2. Not competitiveFriendship is an emotional bond, not a popularity contest so, if friends see each other's successes as a great opportunity to celebrate, you can bet there's nothing but true friendship going on there. You should be happy for your BFF even when your own life isn't all perfect at the moment and he/she should demonstrate the same type of behavior towards you. Being competitive isn't a bad quality at all as long you don't let it affect your friendship – it can help you both be more successful and motivated or ruin you both if you start finding new ways to trip one another. 3. HonestLet's not mix honesty and brutality, please. I'm just trying to point out that friends should be honest enough to speak their minds but kind enough not to make their opinions sound hurtful. Real friends do give each other all kinds of advices and that often includes comments about new boyfriends, outfits, lifestyle and careers, so, if there is something you're doing wrong, you can rely on your friend to point it out. However, a true friend will compliment you too as opposed to a foe, that's going to turn a "blind" eye and comment only when he/she has a chance to criticize. |
| Posted: 13 Mar 2011 10:14 AM PDT Candles are fantastic for a number of reasons. They’re one of the most versatile items of home décor you can find. I’ve always been a huge fan of candles, and I always try to turn other people onto them as well. There are all kinds of new innovations in scents and hot oils and flameless candles and things like that – and they’re great, but they can’t beat a real candle. To highlight the its versatility, see what you think about these 8 reasons to use candles. 1. Setting the MoodYou can set all kinds of moods with candles. Some tea candles around the bathtub, some scented candles in the bedroom, or some tapered candles on the table can all set a romantic mood. You can set spooky moods and mysterious moods and all kinds of other moods, simply by lighting up a wick! What else can do that? 2. CelebratingNaturally, candles can be extremely celebratory. After all, what else do we put on birthday and anniversary cakes? A candle doesn’t have to be scented to be useful. Celebratory candles are all kinds of fun. Speaking from experience, however, if you ever put any of those trick candles that won’t blow out on a friend’s birthday cake, she’s going to be very perturbed at you for the rest of the party. 3. Scent SensationThere are, however, candles that smell excellent. I mean, there are candles that smell so divine, they can lift your mood or make you get hungry. And you don’t necessarily have to burn them to benefit from their aromas. On the contrary, as one of our readers pointed out, you can place a candle on a heater, a radiator, a hot plate, or what have you. The wax still gets warm and releases its scent. |
| 7 Ways to Make Recycling Easier … Posted: 13 Mar 2011 10:08 AM PDT Everybody is doing more to recycle these days, and with good reason. Some people do it because they want to, while others also do it because they have to, since there are now laws and ordinances that make recycling mandatory. For instance, in my neighborhood you can get fined if recyclables are found in your garbage. It can definitely be a hassle, but you can make it more simple by incorporating some or all of these 7 ways to make recycling easier. 1. Separate Your TrashKeeping your trash separate from your recyclable items from the beginning can make this whole process lots easier. So, you should have a bin for everything, just to make it that much simpler. You can have a trashcan, a bin for bottles and cans, and a container for cardboard and paper products as well. That way, everything can go in its place right from the get go. 2. Find Something NearbyYou can also look around so you can find the closest recycling center. No one’s really keen on driving around with trash in their car for long periods of times. Plus, having to drive across town to a recycling center can be something of a hassle. Odds are, however, that there’s something close by you can reach in just a few minutes. 3. Keep Your Bins CloseIn your house, you should find a place for your bins. Typically, the closer they are to the kitchen, the better. That way, you won’t have to let things pile up in any of the rooms in your home. That happens in my house all the time, especially with soda cans and cardboard products from food packages and the like. |
| 10 Worst Places to Live in America … Posted: 13 Mar 2011 09:31 AM PDT Thinking of moving soon? Then you might want to read the 10 Worst Places To Live In America before making any big decisions. After reviewing statistics for crime rate, unemployment rate, weather, foreclosure, and pollution I’ve put together this list. Of course if you’re already living in one of these areas don’t take offense. This is based off of statistics and my personal opinion combined. These are not in order by least to most due to the fact I think they’re all undesirable. 1. Las Vegas, NevadaOne of the wost places to live in America is Las Vegas, Nevada. Sure the atmosphere of the night life is sure to lure a few movers in the Las Vegas direction however what’s behind the scenes is what matters. Foreclosure rates at an all time high in Las Vegas. A lot of neighborhoods have very few families living in them. Surprisingly the crime rate isn’t ridiculous compared to most US Cities. May be a nice vacation trip however it doesn’t sound the place the live if you’re looking for stability, security, or a nice place to raise your family. 2. New Orleans, LouisianaAnother one of the worst places to live In America is New Orleans, Louisiana. I hated myself for writing this due to the fact that I’ve dreamed of visiting the city since I was a child for it’s culture, history, and jazz scene however besides the culture there isn’t much to be desired. Besides the usual unemployment being at an all time high and crime being present (like every city), New Orleans is prone to flooding. I’ve spoke with many residents in New Orleans and they stated that they’re insurance rates for car, home, and life have tripled upon their move to New Orleans. |
| Posted: 13 Mar 2011 09:30 AM PDT Receiving a hand written letter is such a lovely surprise. I find writing them as equally rewarding. With all the available word processing technology these days, handwriting seems very 'old school'. Despite this, there are still a lot of cute stationery kits out there. 1. Presentasty Gift Tag Set
 2. 99 Cute Balloons Stationery Set

| 7 Simple Steps to a Healthy Lifestyle … Posted: 13 Mar 2011 09:18 AM PDT Are you often tired, lethargic and a little depressed? Do you swing from energizer bunny-style bounciness to feeling like you just cannot get out of bed? Chances are ladies, your lifestyle's not quite up to scratch; you've picked up some bad habits and they're bringing you down. By now girls, we all know what's good for us and what's not, but just in case you need reminding, I've compiled a list of 7 steps to healthier you. 1. Eat BreakfastWe've all heard it before, girls, and it's still absolutely crucial. A small, healthy breakfast including complex carbohydrates, natural fibre and fruit is vital for so many reasons. It helps to kick start the metabolism so your body uses its nutrition more efficiently, and it stabilises blood sugar and energy levels for the rest of the day. Studies have consistently shown that thinner, healthier people who live longer eat within three hours of waking up; that's pretty conclusive, ladies, you should do it too! 2. Stay HydratedWater is a necessary component in every single one of our bodies' many, many functional processes. If we're dehydrated, our mental activity is sluggish, we can't digest food properly and we find ourselves plagued by headaches. Plenty of water helps to keep our hearts in good condition, it allows muscles to work at optimum functionality and it promotes an alert, receptive attitude. Drink around 8 to 10 glasses a day to stay hydrated girls, and more if you're living in a super-hot climate. 3. Exercise EverydayYes, ladies, every single day! But, girls, remember that exercise doesn't always have to mean extreme exertion; no one's suggesting you climb Everest before breakfast or white-water raft down the Zambezi in your lunch break. Just make sure that you don't spend all day sitting on you butt. Get out the house or the office and walk briskly for twenty minutes. Anything which raises your heart rate for a sustained period of time and gets your limbs moving is great! |

It is very difficult to decide on what the top events or people were through the year, but here is my list of the most famous personalities of 2010. 1. Julian AssagneJulian Assange and his whistleblower website Wikileaks caused a whirlwind when he published classified details of American involvement in foreign wars. He then published secret diplomatic cables. He sparked off a worldwide debate regarding the secrecy of diplomatic relations and the right of the public to information that eventually governs their lives. 2. Mark ZuckerbergMark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook scaled heights of fame when the movie 'The Social Network' based on his life and work hit the screens in 2010. We saw what makes him the man that he is and the secret to the creation of Facebook that has changed the way the world interacts. 3. Admiral Mike MullenIt is telling that despite a most distinguished career, the most important reason that Admiral Mike Mullen, who is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff appears on the list of famous personalities of 2010 is because he repealed the policy of 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' in the armed services. |

Now it’s time to help. The Red Cross has already started their response in Japan and in some of the remote, tiny island nations of the Pacific, but they need our help. To donate $10, text REDCROSS to 90999 on your cell phone. A $10 charge will appear on your next phone bill. You can also make a donation at their website here. Lady Gaga is also encouraging her fans to do their part by designing a prayer bracelet for those affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. | Posted: 13 Mar 2011 06:00 AM PDT The Call of Duty franchise of video games are undeniable. The multiplayer is the only real reason to play these games. Shooting it out never gets old, and since they release a new game every year with brand new map packs to follow, there will always be fresh levels to smash nubes. 7. ShipmentThis one was on Call of Duty 4 and it could get crazy. This is the smallest level on any of the game. So small that once you cram twelve people onto it, and you were lucky enough to get a big killstreak you could call in a chopper and knock that total kill count up into the hundreds. 6. NuketownThis level is most people's favorite on the brand new Black Ops game. It's a small town set up like the one in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull where they test nuclear weapons. The level is small, fast, and unpredictable, which is why everyone loves it so much. It also boasts a sweet double rainbow off in the distance. 5. AmbushThis is one of my favorites from Call of Duty 4. It's two shantytowns separated by a road laden with destroyed tanks. I love crawling into the sewer connecting the town and camping while I wait for unsuspecting fools to cross the road. |

Can you survive a month without chocolates? I can but I know it would be difficult. I am in no way addicted to them but I’m pretty sure it would be hard for me. 2. Survive a Zombie ApocalypseI know I will fail this. If a zombie apocalypse happens, I will die in the first hour. Good thing I have these 5 tips to memorize. 3. Spice Up Your LooksEven for just a simple photo shoot like Kate Winslet did here, it can do wonders for you. Ever thought about going platinum blonde or chopping off your beloved locks? 4. Save Up for Your GardenThere are a lot of pretty things on which you can spend your money. We are guilty of posting too many tempting things here on All Women Stalk. The challenge: saving your money for your garden. 5. Keep a Breakup DignifiedBreakups are hard, yes, but that is no reason to have a breakdown. This is a time for the modern woman to act like a lady. Read up to know how. Tell us, ladies (and gents), have you considered doing a challenge lately? Top Photo Credit: Bob.Fornal |
