| 7 Reasons Not To Mess With Old People … Posted: 05 Apr 2011 10:58 AM PDT If there is only one piece of advice you ever listen to in your entire life, let it be this: Never, ever mess with an old person. You will regret it. Old people may appear fragile and helpless, but this is just a façade for their true nature, which has been honed to perfection over many generations. They are truly a wolf in sheep's clothing. So here are 7 reasons to beware of those deceptively innocent-looking seniors … 1. War VeteransOld people have always Lived Through A War. Even if it ended twenty years before they were born, they still Lived Through The War. So they are tough. You do not mess with tough people. If you are ever foolish enough to challenge them about the actual dates of the war not tallying with their lifespan, or taking place at a considerable distance, they will just fix you with an evil stare and mutter that young people today don't know they're born. You cannot win when dealing with oldies. 2. RuthlessAs anyone who has ever been to a store sale or a rummage sale will know, old ladies are ruthless and will stop at nothing in pursuit of a bargain. They have their elbows specially sharpened, carry handbags designed to be used as weapons, and are completely prepared to use them. The store will be littered with bleeding and bruised casualties wondering what on earth hit them, as the seniors sail off loaded with bargains. 3. They Know EverythingOld people are experts on every possible subject. It doesn't matter if they have no direct experience whatsoever, as they are somehow able to apply their knowledge of something completely different and irrelevant. Simply having lived a long time makes them absolutely convinced that they know more than you. |

It is also common to find entire sections dedicated to name brand apparel. It is entirely feasible to buy a super outfit for $5-$10. For example, in LA, skirts and tops frequently sell for $2.50. Name brands generally sell for about double the price of more generic names. 2. Shoes

| Posted: 05 Apr 2011 10:29 AM PDT I'm married to a guy who intentionally shaves his head, due to his receding hair line and the fact that he has a few more gray hairs than he'd like! I've always thought a shaved head looked extremely sexy on guys. I also like how more and more men are resorting to simply shaving their head instead of fighting baldness with the dreaded comb over or a horrible toupee. Here are 7 reasons bald men are sexy. See what you think! 7. A smooth shaven head makes a man appear tidierNo bed head in the morning either! Bald men can roll out of bed and look sexy in whatever they put on, since they don't have to worry about their hair sticking up at random angles all over their head. This tidiness carries on throughout the day as well. There's no sweaty hair plastered to a bald man's head when he finishes running a mile or after working outside on the hottest day of the year. 6. Bald men look manlierLook at how many action heroes are bald. A number of actors have chrome domes and look way sexier than men with pony tails. Bruce Willis, Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, and Samuel Jackson all look great bald and I think their lack of hair also adds to the strong appearance needed for their roles in action movies. 5. Baldness seems to go along with maturityBald guys tend to have a lot to deal with, when it comes to explaining their reasons for shaving their heads. I think constant confrontation causes them to become more mature quicker. I've yet to meet a man who is bald and immature. I'm sure there are plenty out there, but to me baldness tends to equal maturity. |
| 8 Things That Totally Creep Me Out … Posted: 05 Apr 2011 10:22 AM PDT You would think that growing older would provide some insulation from being affected by creepy things. But, I have found that things that would creep me out when I was younger continue to do so even today, even though my brain attempts to provide a perfectly non-creepy explanation. Here are 8 things that totally creep me out. 1. Insect legsI have watched a number of wild life documentaries, but one of the things I find extremely creepy are insect legs. I don't know if it is the sound that invariably accompanies the sight of an insect rubbing legs, or whether it is just watching the two tiny stick like legs with even tinier hair on them rub against each other that makes me feel quite sick. 2. Tongues of reptilesAnother horrific sight I avoid watching when viewing a wild life documentaries is the sight of a flickering reptilian tongue. The tongue never fails to strike fear in my heart, but the quick movement of the tongue always grosses me out. 3. Ancient torture equipmentPictures of crude instruments used to torture prisoners and slaves creep me out to no end. It is not that the pictures are creepy, it is what the imagination fills in that makes these pictures scary to look at. |

| Posted: 05 Apr 2011 09:24 AM PDT Yes, I know. Cartoons are supposed to be for kids, not grown-ups, like me. But I love cartoons, especially the ones with kids as the main characters. They're so sweet, and funny, and often so realistic, every time I watch I see myself and my siblings when we were young. If you don't know what I mean, perhaps you're not watching the right shows, or paying attention to the right characters! Here are 7 cartoon kids I love. 1. Lisa Simpson
Photo Credit: simpsoncrazy.com I am Lisa Simpson, only without the strapless dress and pointy yellow hair. I'm bookish, nerdy, and sweet, just like she is. Perhaps this is why I love her so, or maybe it's because she's cute and because I love the relationship between her and Bart, her horrible, irredeemably naughty brother. 2. Angelica and Tommy Pickles
Photo Credit: peaceloveandcrayons.blogspot.com I wish I'd been more like Angelica Pickles as a child. She's bold, bossy, and brave. I was… quiet, mousy, and timid. Sure, she's mean to the dumb babies… but… I love her for her seemingly endless moxie. On the other hand, I also adore her cousin, Tommy Pickles, who is sweet-natured and helpful, the exact polar opposite of Angelica. 3. Phineas and Ferb (and Candace)
Photo Credit: disneyclips.com These intrepid brothers are wickedly clever and so creative, and their sister, Candace, is there to bust them. All they want to do is avoid boredom during their summer break, and all she wants to do is ruin their plans and rat them out to their mother. I love all three of them and their circle of friends! Hey, where's Perry? |
| 8 Moments of My Life I’ll Never Get Back … Posted: 05 Apr 2011 08:55 AM PDT Have you ever had one of those moments in life that take so much time and energy, and seem so pointless in retrospect, you’re kind of PO’d that you’ll never get them back? I was thinking about that the other day, and actually came up with a list. Some of them, naturally, are more than a moment I’ll never get back, but you get what I mean. On the one hand, at least the list isn’t very big. Still, there are several moments of my life I’ll never get back, and I thought I’d share them with y’all! 1. The Three-Month-Long One Night StandAll right, so this wasn’t actually a one night stand – obviously. But, at age 19, in a moment of severe bad judgment, I hooked up with a guy that I absolutely could not stand. I was going through a really awful time – still getting used to college life, I’d just broken up with my high school boyfriend, whom I believed to be the love of my life (I was vastly incorrect), and I was really down on myself. This all culminated into an awful trainwreck of a relationship with this guy who should have gone away within a week at most, but ended up hanging around for three interminable months. Ugh! 2. Astrology ClassI love astrology, so taking the class for one of my science electives in college seemed like a no brainer. At least, it seemed like a good idea until I met our adjunct professor, who was quickly deemed Mrs. Rogers, and who taught us astrology like our classroom was located somewhere on Sesame Street. Most pointless class ever. 3. TrigonometryNow, trigonometry is a really great thing – for some people. I know that it’s valuable in a lot of areas, for a lot of professions, and a lot of people really love the discipline. Not me. I took this my senior year in high school, when I didn’t even need to take another math class – I just thought it would look good on my transcripts. But I hated it, I didn’t understand it for the life of me, and I got my first and only F during one of the six week grading periods. Killed me! |
| 7 World Famous Women Comic Artists … Posted: 05 Apr 2011 08:35 AM PDT In some ways I believe that comedians are the most talented performers of all. They have to make us laugh and usually we are a cynical audience. With female comedians there is an even greater sense of skepticism so when they enthrall us with their hilarious jokes, it is something to be truly admired. Here are a few world famous women comic artists. 1. Ellen DeGeneres
Photo Credit: top-10-list.org Ellen DeGeneres is one of the most well liked comedians ever to have hit the stage. Her comic style is not usually offensive and she constantly gets the opportunity to keep us in splits in her TV talk show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She was also the star of her own sitcom in the 90's, which was cancelled after she came out as a lesbian. 2. Tina Fey
Photo Credit: theanksden.wordpress.com Tina Fey is the latest phenomenon to hit world-class female comedians. She shot to fame as a writer and actress for Saturday Night Live and moved on to create her own situation based comedy 30 Rock. She has won numerous Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Awards and Guild Awards for her acting and writing work. Perhaps her most hilarious performance was her portrayal of Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live. 3. Whoopi Goldberg
Photo Credit: s1178.photobucket.com Whoopi Goldberg is one of a small community of performers to have won an Oscar, a Grammy, a Tony and Emmy Award in her career. My favorite Whoopi Goldberg performance is her depiction of a flamboyant psychic in the movie Ghost, a role she won an Oscar for. She is currently the moderator of The View and since she took over, ratings are at an all time high. |
| 7 Strategies to Get a Tan Before Summer … Posted: 05 Apr 2011 08:21 AM PDT A lot of us look better with a little colour on our skin, girls, but if you're anxious about the damaging effects of UV rays, lying in the sun is probably not for you. Fortunately, there are other options available to us, and these help us to avoid the risks associated with sunburn. I've put together a list of 7 strategies to get a tan before summer; read on, ladies! Perhaps your days of being pale are about to end. 1. The SunLet's start at the beginning ladies. Lying in the sun will eventually give you a tan – there are risks involved, but it is effective. Make sure you don't burn by gradually acclimatizing your skin to the rays. Lie in the sun for about 20 minutes daily if possible and make sure you cover yourself in a low factor sun screen. 2. Salon Spray TansThis can be a great option to give your skin a little colour without the risk of sun damage. A spray tan won't come cheap though, ladies, and, whatever your natural skin tone, don't be tempted to go for the darker shades. These inevitably come out looking bright-orange, and, girls, there's nothing tackier than that! Bear in mind as well that your tan will need retouching after a couple of weeks, so you'll need to book a repeat appointment with the beautician after you've had your first spray. 3. A SunbedThe classic sunbed is a horizontal tanning machine that exposes you to artificial UV rays for short periods of time. Sessions are usually available in cycles of 10 and you should always book yours over a period of about 20 days. Allowing a 'rest day' between your tanning sessions give skin time to recover and any inflammation to go down, and will result in a better tan overall. |
| Posted: 05 Apr 2011 05:28 AM PDT Are “House” star and all-around hottie Olivia Wilde and Justin Timberlake dating?
The two were spotted dancing together at L.A.’s Roxbury this past weekend, and last month, Wilde ended her marriage, and Timberlake broke up with his girlfriend, Jessica Biel. On Twitter, Wilde denies that she and Timberlake are involved, tweeting “Cool it, honeybadgers. We are just friends and have been for years.” What do you think? Are Wilde and Timberlake too cozy to just be friends? Would they make a good couple? |
