10 Signs Your Crush Likes You …

You see him across the hall at school, and your heart immediately drops to your stomach! You’re instantly in love! You can’t stop staring as he sits across the room eating lunch, and you blush if he looks at you during class. I’ve been there! I know what it’s like to be wondering if they like you too! Here are a few signs that may point you in the right direction for an answer!

1. He Gets Jealous Of You With Other Guys

This can only really be detected if he is one of your friends already. But if that’s the case, it may mean that he likes you if he finds it hard to watch you with other guys.

2. He Blushes When He’s Teased About You

If you have mutual friends that can “see” what’s happening, and like to tease, you can use this to your advantage and see if he blushes when they tease him about you, or tease you about him in front of him. Instead of hushing them, let them tease! It just may be your key to knowledge!

3. He Attempts Conversation

Has he found a moment to attempt to talk to you? Bumped your books so he’d have the opportunity to pick them up and smile at you? He just might like you!

9 Cheap Hobbies to Try …

These may be times of financial struggle but that doesn't mean that you should stop having fun. There are many ways to have a great time without needing or spending a lot of money. You just need to be creative, resourceful, and open minded. Here are nine hobbies you can enjoy on the cheap.

1. Baking and Cooking

Compared to eating out, baking or cooking at home is definitely cheaper. Things can get a bit stressful if you are still new to baking and cooking. But once you get the hang of things, you can finally see the relaxing side of these activities. And aside from saving money on eating out, you also get to control the ingredients that go into your food. Baking and cooking can also be a fun bonding activity for family, friends, and couples.

2. Painting and Drawing

Painting and drawing should not be activities limited to those who have the talent to create wonderful images. Even if you are not that gifted, you can still make painting or drawing your emotional outlet. Getting started is easy: you just need your imagination, some paper, and drawing or painting implements. You don't need a big budget for these hobbies.

3. Writing

If you have a gift for words, then maybe you would want to try your hand at writing. Paper and pens are relatively cheap so you don't have to spend much to get started. You can also just use your computer's word processor. If you want to develop your writing, there are free and cheap ways to do so. Writing is great outlet for the daily frustrations, as well as wonders and discoveries, of life.

9 Things That Waste Your Money …

In today's economy it is important that we keep a close eye on our finances in case anything should go wrong, for instance we loose our jobs. Here are 9 things that waste our money.

9. Your credit card balance which increases with interest

Leaving a balance on your credit card can really loose you a lot of money because every month interest is added. If you do not pay your balance off quickly then you will end up paying a lot more than you intended to over the year.

8. Leaving the lights and other electrical goods on whilst out of the room

A complete waste of money is when you leave the lights on or the television on when you leave the room and will be gone for more than a minute. As well as a waste of money it is not very energy efficient either, turning off these items will make sure that you save some money.

7. Unhealthy food

One of the biggest claims is that healthy food is too expensive. In my opinion this is not true, it depends on what you buy and how you plan to use it because with fresh vegetables and meat you can make big dishes and freeze leftover. Therefore it lasts longer, whereas with unhealthy foods or already made meals you have to buy a new one for every day.

7 Creative Wedding Vows …

Our wedding day is one of the most remembered and cherished days of a woman’s life. On the other hand, the wedding night seems to erase all of that husband’s memory of anything before then! LOL! There are many different and beautiful traditions that make a wedding unique and beautiful. Here are seven wedding vows that I found.

1. Sing your vows

Sing your vows

If you have a voice that can sing, this may be a creative option for you. Set your chosen vows to music (or have help) and sing! This would be especially beautiful to do as a duet with your spouse!

2. Put a little bit if you into it!

Be yourself. You should check with the officiator of the ceremony to be sure they would allow things, but if you are the rapper type, rap your vows. If you’re the comedian, make your vows funny. Say your vows in a way that is true and from your heart, but will also convey the person that you are!

3. Want unforgettable? Have the wedding party chime in!

For example, you would say, “I will love you for the rest of my life” and the wedding party choruses “She will love you for the rest of her life", you say, “I take you for better or worse” and the wedding party follows with “She takes you for better or worse!” This is definitely a way to leave a lasting impressing on your guests!

8 Wicked Gifts to Buy Other People's Kids …

Well, here comes Christmas again, and with it a long list of children to buy presents for. But what do you get them? If you're a bit evil, like me, you buy something that the kids will enjoy, but the parents will not …

N.B These tips are only to be followed if you do not have kids of your own, otherwise the parents will surely return the favour.

1. Glitter

This is possibly the most evil gift one could possibly buy. I can tell you from experience that it makes the most appalling mess, and there is absolutely no way that the parents will be able to clear it all up when it invariably gets spilt everywhere. They'll be vacuuming it up for weeks …

2. Play-Doh

This is the second most evil present. We all know how Play-Doh mixes together into that muddy brown – well, it also has the most amazing ability to stick to everything. Just watch as the hapless parents try to pick it out of their hair.

3. Drums

The classic present to buy for the kids of someone you do not actually like very much. Did your older brother torment you when you were children? Well, big bro will find out that you have a very long memory when his own offspring unwrap a drum kit.

9 Ways to Be Modest and Sexy At The Same Time …

You don’t have to show a lot of skin to be sexy. Being sexy is more than what you’re wearing, too! Read on to find out how you can be sexy, and still be modest too!

1. It’s How You Carry Yourself

Being sexy is in your walk, in how you handle yourself. Walk with the confidence that says you know who you are, you know you’re modest, but hey, you’re smokin’ hot too! Make plenty of eye contact with your man and let your eyes do the talking for you!

2. It’s In The Colors

Wear reds, blacks, and purples. Bold is sexy. Try wearing a black dress with a bold splash of red stilettos, and some bright red lipstick. You’ll turn heads, that’s for certain!

3. It’s In The Hair

Anthropologist Grant McCracken says, “When a woman changes her hair, she can instantly alter the way she’s perceived by the world.” That’s so true. Go into town with a tangles mess on your head, and you’ll be looked at as if you have no manners or hygiene at all, even if you just took a shower. Come in with a chic, put-together look, and people will think you’re a successful business woman, even if you just work at McDonalds! So, to get people to know you’re sexy, wear your hair sexy! Wear your hair full and wavy, but make sure it’s soft and not full of hairspray. Men like to be able to run their fingers through it. For more sexy hair tips, go to cosmopolitan.com!

7 Simple Ways to Cut Calories …

If you're trying to lose weight, or just keep it off during the upcoming holidays, then you're probably already paying careful attention to the number of calories you consume versus the number of calories you burn each day. But a busy girl like you can only spend so many hours a week on the elliptical machine, so you may want to also think about simply cutting a few calories here and there, and spending only five hours a week on the elliptical, right? But how do you cut calories without spending a lot of time planning careful menus and living on celery sticks? I can help. Here are 7 simple ways to cut calories to help you lose weight (or just keep it off).

1. Cut out the soda

Cut out the soda

Soda is empty calories, plain and simple. Worse still, most of it's made with high fructose corn syrup, not sugar, so our bodies don't even really know how to process it. Unless you're willing to make the switch to diet soda (which offers its own dangers, like the possibility of cancer from the artificial sweeteners in it), it's a great idea to cut soda from your diet. If you cut out a mere 32 ounces of soda per day (about two tall glasses of it), you'll cut an amazing 480 calories. That's a QUARTER of the average woman's daily calorie intake!

2. Cut out anything fried

Frying food, even something healthful like chicken, is going to add calories. Cut out fried foods, and opt for baked foods instead. This includes chicken tenders, chicken patties, French fries, and anything else you can possibly fry.

3. Cut out fast food

Fast food is monstrously disgustingly bad for you. Not only does it carry any number of food-borne pathogens, and contain hearty doses of animal feces, it's also loaded with calories. For example, one double-cheeseburger with medium fries and a medium Coke contains 1100 calories, more than half of the number you ought to consume in one day! If you can't skip the fast food altogether, try to make more healthful, lower-calorie choices: a grilled Snack Wrap with ranch dressing along with a side Caesar salad and a bottle of Dasani water only has 360 calories. Much better!

8 Snug Pet Beds …

If your pets are anything like mine, they will sleep anywhere they choose to. On the sofa, on the bed, in the bed, on clean laundry … and if you buy them their own bed they will just ignore it! But if you feel like being generous – or trying to get across the message that they should sleep in their own bed – then there are some great pet beds available. Have a look at these …

1. Dog Bed

Dog Bed
Price: $85 at cgi.ebay.com
I've never seen a pet bed like this – it looks more like a trampoline with its raised bed. Apparently it is resistant to chewing, so if you've got one of those dogs that destroys everything it might be a good bet.

2. Heated Bed

Price: $34.87 at cgi.ebay.com
I don't think I'll be getting one of these, as it would discourage my cats from sleeping at my feet and keeping them warm. However, if you prefer your pets to sleep in their own bed, this heated bed might just encourage them to do so. Luxury!

3. Igloo

Igloo
Price: $62.95 at cgi.ebay.com
I'm not sure this is the most stylish model I've ever seen … Still, it looks nice and snug, and a chilly pet will no doubt appreciate the heated pad. Probably best for a conservatory or porch, given the style and size.

7 Game Plans for Tackling Black Friday Next Year …

7 Game Plans for Tackling Black Friday Next Year …

This is the first year I planned to tackle Black Friday, and it occurred to me how important it would be to put together a game plan. Because this is the biggest shopping day of the year, I thought I'd share it with all of you, because even if you don't get to it this year, this is an annual, retail trainwreck! I hope these 7 game plans for tackling Black Friday are helpful!

1. Make a List

You need to go into this sale knowing exactly what you need. Not only that, but you need to stick to it. If you plan to get a new DVD player, gaming system, computer, or TV, head straight for electronics and don't be distracted. If you see something you like on the way, either grab it fast or give it up and come back for it later – otherwise you might waste time and lose out on the items you really want.

2. Double Check Your Deals

Impulse buys happen. There are things you need to think about before you indulge, though. To begin with, are you sure you're going to use the item? And, are you sure you're actually getting a good deal on it? Don't ever think that stores won't take advantage of Black Friday by trying to slip one over on customers. Some things "on sale" are still priced higher than they're worth.

3. Comparison Shop

You might not have time to comparison shop on Black Friday itself, but as we all know, stores start advertising their deals well beforehand. You can use that information to comparison shop online before the big sale. That way, you can see which stores offer the best deals as well, and that can help you save even more money.

7 Boy Bands I Couldn’t Help Liking …

Boy bands are on the rise again, although MTV points out that now, they take the shape of bands like Good Charlotte and My Chemical Romance. As a closet GC fan, I'm not even going to comment on that, but I still got to thinking – and cringing – about the boy bands I did love more than life when I was younger, so take a look at the top 7 boy bands I couldn't help liking.

1. The Beatles

The Beatles
Price: $7.99 at amazon.com
Although the Beatles came a long, long way from their matching outfits before the band split, they were technically one of the original boy bands, if not the OG. They went far deeper than bubblegum pop after a while, but even when they were all about poppy ballads like "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and "From Me to You," they were the stuff.

2. New Kids on the Block

New Kids on the Block
Price: $6.94 at amazon.com
I don't listen to the new songs; I don't want the new songs; I didn't even care about them getting back together. I'd rather see Donnie Wahlberg on "Blue Bloods" and forget that I ever loved that doughy d-bag, Jordan Knight. There are still times when I want to hear their squeaky voiced little love songs though. I'm particularly a fan of their second album. Lalalalalala, tonight!

3. 'N SYNC

'N SYNC
Price: $9.82 at amazon.com
Oh yeah, I admit it. I didn't own an 'N SYNC album but I watched all their videos and sang along on the radio. They were part of a late 1990s trifecta including 98 Degrees and the Backstreet Boys, but they were the only one of the three I could stand. Fun fact: I was a Lance Bass girl rather than a Justin girl – but like JT's solo career quite a bit. Or well, I liked it, when it was still relevant.

7 Signs of an Ill-fitting Bra …

Wearing a bra shouldn’t be a huge hassle. Bras have a very simple job to do, but it isn’t always easy to find a bra that can handle this job. I know I’ve tried on bras in the store and thought they were fabulous, only to get them home and realize just how uncomfortable they were when worn all day. In case you are wondering if your bra is actually doing what it’s supposed to be doing, the following 7 signs of an ill-fitting bra might be useful.

7. You have pain while wearing the bra

Not everyone can get away with wearing bras that don’t come fitted with underwires. These wires provide extra support and lift, but they can also cause pain. Some women find underwire bras uncomfortable, no matter what. Slight discomfort and pain are two different things. Something that is a bit uncomfortable can be due to the newness of the item. When a bra is downright painful to wear, then it's time to get a new one.

6. It’s necessary to constantly adjust yourself

It's necessary to constantly adjust yourself
Photo Credit: Mark & Andrea Busse

I know I have days where my bra seems to always be out of place, but this is often due to my skin being sweaty. When I find myself tugging at the sides of my bra to get the band to stop pinching my skin, or pulling on the front of the bra to put the cup back in the correct place, then I know it's time to change bras. There's nothing more distracting than a bra that is always pulling itself out of place.

5. The straps cut into your flesh

Have you ever taken off your bra at the end of the day and been able to tell exactly where your bra straps were placed? Sometimes this can be adjusted with the small buckles found on most bra straps. If your bra doesn't have adjustable straps and you notice dark red divots in your skin, your bra might be too small. You shouldn't have any deep marks on your body from your bra. A light indention is possible, such as what you get when sleeping on a wrinkled pillow case, but that should be all.

7 Reasons Not to Rent a Movie from the Movie Store …

Today, there are so many people that prefer not to rent movies from the movie store. What is the first thing that pops in your mind when you think of renting movies? Oh, yes, that is what I am getting at. There are cheaper ways to get movies than to go to a rental stores. 7 reasons not to rent a movie from the movie store can be found below …

7. The Internet

Hey, do you want to know a secret? You have the Internet. The Internet is full of movies that you can stream straight through your computer. This is definitely comvenient.

6. You Could Own It

Some people do not rent simply because they prefer buying it. When they buy it, it is there's to keep. If you are looking to build up your movie collection, then this is a great idea. Owning the movie is much better.

5. They Could Overcharge You

They Could Overcharge You

I used to have an account in the next town over. However, this all changed when they overcharged me. They said that three movies were not turned in, when I had turned them in on time. I had to pay the fee, even though they had them. This still disappoints me to this day. Besides, they're expensive. Come on, five bucks to rent a movie?

10 Facts on Christmas …

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. It's not just the decorations and songs that put me in the festive mood, but also knowing that this is the time of year that all the family gets together as well. I've collected these 10 facts on Christmas because they intrigued me. Feel free to pass them on and wow your friends and family during a little seasonal game of holiday trivia.

10. Mmmmm….pig's head

Mmmmm….pig's head

This was the traditional main course for Christmas dinner in England. The head was served with mustard sauce. I have to be honest, I'm kind of glad that this isn't what's for dinner nowadays. I'd much rather stick to the honey glazed ham my grandmother sticks with cloves and heats in the oven for dinner.

9. It's Christmas, so guard the brooms

Norwegians used to believe that witches and evil spirits were out to steal brooms on the eve of Christmas. How this legend came about is beyond me. I'm guessing someone got together with a bunch of friends and stole some brooms. Most unexplainable situations were blamed on spirits in the past, so it sort of makes sense why broom stealing would be the doing of an evil spirit or a witch back in the day.

8. Some things are considered to be unlucky around Christmas time

You got to love all the superstitions surrounding certain holidays. Here are just a few that seem a bit odd; it's unlucky to cut the Christmas cake before the eve of Christmas, it's unlucky to cut mince pie with a knife during Christmas, and it's bad luck to eat this pie any time other than between Christmas eve and the twelfth night. However, it is good luck to eat a mince pie every day during the 12 days of Christmas. That's a lot of mince pie.

8 Bizarre Beauty Treatments …

Some say that, when it comes to maintaining and upgrading your good looks, no cream is too expensive and no treatment is too radical. Hmm… is it really so? I like to hear or read about new, radical stuff but some things are just waaaay to crazy, not to mention potentially dangerous. So, let me tell you more about those today. Yup, you won't believe some of the beauty regiments available today and these 8 I'm about to list now are just the tip of the iceberg. So, here they are:

1. Bull semen hair treatment

Bull semen hair treatment

Umm, remember that movie scene in which Cameron Diaz mistakes the guy's "bodily fluids" for hair gel and uses them to fix her bangs? That was funny and gross in the same time and I remember watching that and thinking, "Gosh, something like this could never happen in real life!" Well, guess what? I was wrong because there is a hair salon in London that offers a special protein rich hair mask made out of Aberdeen Angus bull semen and Katera root. Their clients say this odorless mixture gave them the shiniest, softest hair ever and the salon says this treatment is very popular and wanted. Would you give it a try? I honestly wouldn't dare!

2. Fish pedicure

Are you ticklish? Because if you are, you certainly won't be able to go through this unusual pedicure. I've seen this on TV and it didn't look very bad. In fact, all you have to do is to put your feet into a tank filled with little fishes and they will eat all dead skin cells leaving your feet soft and pretty. One thing worries me thought… Hygiene!

8 Great Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments for 2010 …

Every year in the middle of October, while everyone else is frantically preparing for Halloween, I'm anxiously awaiting one of my favorite publications: the new Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments catalog. I give at least a dozen as gifts every Christmas, and I'm always excited to see which of my favorite characters and series I can add to my (and everyone else's) collections. This year's catalog is delightful and festive, with Keepsake ornaments for everyone on my, and your, holiday shopping list, no matter what their interests and hobbies. Here are 8 great Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments for 2010.

1. Festive Santa

Festive Santa
Price: $7.95 at hallmark.com
My little girl has her own pre-lit mini tree in her room, and every year we add one or two (or five) new mini ornaments to her collection. This is the second in the series of bright, cheerful mini Santas, and I love how he hangs at a jaunty, jolly angle. He measure less than 2 inches tall, but what he lacks in size, he makes up for in good cheer.

2. Checking It Twice

Checking It Twice
Price: $12.95 at hallmark.com
This is one of my favorite Santas this year, proudly perusing his "nice" list… checking it twice, planning his route to bring all of the good children their gifts! I love that the list contains actual names, not just illegible scribbles — and look! My name's on there!

3. One of a Kind

One of a Kind
Price: $12.95 at hallmark.com
This Keepsake ornament is gorgeous, so elegant! He's just a chubby snowman, all done in shining silver with touches of festive red for his scarf and nose. Pair him with your best silver-and-red bulbs for a unique, beautiful tree.

8 Signs of Sleep Deprivation …

Sleep deprivation can be not only harmful to your body, but it can also create dangerous situations for you and others around you. The 8 signs of sleep deprivation listed below are some of the more common ones I've seen and experienced. The signs will vary for each person, which means you might not have noticed some of these signs before.

8. Word recall is much slower

Word recall is much slower

Not being able to think of a word or remember what you just read is a sure sign of sleep deprivation. This can make it difficult to successfully write down coherent notes, lists, and to think of what to say when speaking to someone. I remember staying up late to write papers in college. After I had finally gone to bed and gotten some much needed rest, my paper didn't sound nearly as good as I thought it had the night before.

7. Memory lapses happen

This can be hazardous if you are driving when sleep deprivation hits hard. It is much more severe than highway hypnosis, since it tends to last longer. Not remember the reason you came into the room is another common form of memory lapse that can occur with sleep deprivation. I have occasional episodes of this from time to time, but nothing as severe as when I'm deprived of much needed rest.

6. Hallucinations

Hallucinations

I've never been so tired that I started hallucinating. Thank goodness! I'm not even sure what these hallucinations would entail if I were to have them. Hallucinations associated with sleep deprivation are generally visual. Supposedly auditory hallucinations aren't connected with a lack of sleep. It's also important to note that hallucinations that go along with sleep deprivation are considered to be more of a visual misperception. The most common one is thinking that you are seeing things move slightly.

8 Ways to Be Coy without Acting Fake …

8 Ways to Be Coy without Acting Fake …

Coyness has a time and a place, and for some people it’s second nature, part of their personality. However, it can be hard to act coy without coming off as fake or superficial. Why would someone want to be coy? Tons of reasons, really. This focuses mainly on how you can use coy behavior to overcome shyness. The two are interrelated, but coyness can help a shy person overcome their bashful qualities little by little. So, here are 8 ways to be coy without acting fake.

1. Don’t Talk to Strangers

One way to act coy is to refrain from jumping into conversations with people you don’t know, or don’t know well. If you are in a group of strangers, wait to be introduced before starting a conversation. Coyness often means acting cool, so you never want to seem too eager.

2. Don’t Go Wild

What this means is that you may want to steer clear of certain activities, like wild parties or raves. A cool, coy girl knows how to stand alone without being stand-offish or snotty. She won’t be a wallflower, but neither will she go crazy in the middle of the dance floor.

3. Do Be Private

A key to coyness is keeping personal and private details to yourself. Don’t get me wrong, it’s perfectly acceptable to share these details with those you’re closest to, but if you are trying to be coy, you don’t want to spill your life’s story to people you don’t know very well. This is actually often a good idea. For example, it’s generally preferable not to divulge information about family problems or relationship issues with your colleagues.

5 Wonderful Winter Traditions…

1. Snow Pretty

If you’ve got a good blanket of snow where you live, taking photos would be a wonderful tradition to get into. Do it with chic winter clothes for that added oomph, of course.

2. Self-Reward

Let’s face it, the holidays can truly make you go insane. A good tradition to start would be to give yourself little rewards for every major holiday task ticked off your list. A cocktail or two, perhaps? Don’t go overboard, though.

3. Holiday Movies

It’s that time of the year where almost all moves you’ll see on TV will make you smile and love life. *sigh* Time to cuddle with your boyfriend or pet and travel to a fictional world where good things happen to good people.

4. Shopping
