What is your favorite scent to wear? Do you like fruity? Flowery? Musky? Me? I’m into fruity scents! If I smell edible, I know I smell good! Here are the top selling perfumes for teen girls!

1. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue

This is said to be a “youthful scent” of amber and green apple notes. It is light and gentle, yet sophisticated!

2. Abercrombie & Fitch

Though it is pricey, it still has excellent reviews from both women and teen girls. The scent is “sweet and sexy”, “light, clean and girly” It is more a flowery scent of citrus-infused gardenias. Supposed to be good for all ages.

7 Period Problems You Shouldn't Ignore …

Many women know immediately what the problem is when they experience bloating, cramps, back plus leg ache and a wide range of other symptoms. Here a 7 period problems that you shouldn't ignore.

7. Heavy periods

Heavy periods

Many women experience heavy periods at the beginning and then after a 2-3 days it eases off a bit. In my opinion if you need to change your sanitary towel every hour because of the heavy flow, then you may want to make an appointment with a gynaecologist just to make sure that everything is ok.

6. Fullness or tenderness around the abdomen

Normally around the beginning of a period the area around your abdomen feels extremely sensitive and tender. In most cases you tend to find that after the first day or couple of days this sensation disappears. If it does not, or you feel that it is becoming worse, a thorough examination could be for the best.

5. Light-headedness

Often during your period you are likely to feel a tiny bit light headed; this is only natural due to the blood loss. If, however, you feel extremely faint or do pass out during your period then you should again make an appointment with a doctor or a specialist. In my opinion it is best to make sure that everything is ok, it may turn out to be that you are slightly anaemic.

8 Challenges of Working From Home …

8 Challenges of Working From Home …

When I graduated from university, I told myself that I would strive to do something that I love and feel passionate about. I worked in several companies before deciding that the cubicle life is just not for me. I wanted the kind of work that would allow me to have control over my creativity and skills. The road I followed led me to being a home-based freelance writer. So now, here I am, writing from the comfort of home. You might think that working from home is all fun and freedom. However, as I soon found out, there are many challenges and problems you can face with working from home.

1. Getting projects

Getting projects

Probably the biggest problem of working from home is getting actual work. You need to know where to find clients and employers. Once you find them, you have to determine their reliability with regards to payment and steady work. Once you determine their reliability, you need to convince them to hire you.

2. Unstable income

You should expect a relatively unstable income when you start working from home. Your earnings can vary depending on your projects and how much you can actually accomplish. You should always have enough savings to get you through times when earnings are low.

3. You become the whole company

When you work from home, whether as a freelancer or a home business owner, you need to be ready to fulfill the tasks of the different departments of a company. You have to be the marketing, human resource, information technology, and accounting departments all in one. You have to do all this on top of your work tasks.

7 Perfect Vintage Looks …

I swear, I believe I was born a few decades too late. I am so in love with all things vintage! I would give a lot to be able to dress in a different vintage look every week! One of my favorite online websites to get vintage insprired pieces is www.shopruche.com but there are many others like www.anthropologie.com and www.urbanoutfitters.com
Here are a few of my favorite vintage looks!

1. Vintage Bride

Vintage Bride

There is something about old-fashioned wedding things that is so romantic! I love to look at antique photos of a bride and groom, all solemn and dapper in their beautiful outfits! If you haven’t married yet, consider having a vintage wedding and have your guests dress up as well. You can choose a time theme, like the 20′s or 50′s and have a wonderful, memorable day with friends and family!

2. Vintage Hats

For some reason, I can’t seem to find a hat that I can pull off very well, but I haven’t given up! There are many different beautiful, vintage hat styles to choose from like cloche hats, wide brim straw hats, flapper cloche hats, top hats, fedoras and many more!

3. Vintage Plaid

The key to pulling together a good vintage country look is to throw in some plaid! A plaid shirt, plaid skirt, or even a plaid coat like what is pictured will be so cute on a fall day!

7 Ways To Fight Home Pests …

7 Ways To Fight Home Pests …

Termites, roaches, fleas, ants, MICE! I hate them all! They are yucky! Will they ever just leave us alone? Probably not. So, we have just gotta get mean! Here are 7 ways you can fight back against the vicious mob of pests that invade your home! Get rid of them NOW, with these handy remedies.

1. Call The Exterminator!

Have them spray the perimeter to help keep the bugs outside where they belong. Exterminators offer a wide range of ways to help keep your home pest free throughout the year. It’s not cheap to call one in, but then again, it isn’t cheap to repair the damage that pests like termites and mice do to your home either. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!

2. Clean Up

Pests love it when you leaves a mess – that’s how they eat! Each time you leave crumbs under the table, or a bag of chips out on the counter, you are making your pesky friends, especially mice, very happy! Keep your food messes cleaned up and out of reach. Those nifty hanging basket things are great to keep mouse attractants like candy bars, chips, crackers, etc. in. This will keep them off your countertops and out of your cabinets.

3. Don’t Mulch

Exterminators hate nothing more than to be called to spray for termites, and pull up to your house to see mulched flower beds all around your home. One local exterminator refused to even spray for some family friends until they had removed all the mulch from around their house. My father-in-law explained that it was because mulch is rotting wood which feeds and attracts termites to your home. If you’re going to mulch, make sure that you only mulch things several yards from your home.

7 Festive Holiday Cards to Send …

I love sending holiday cards to friends and family, but every year, it gets to be more and more of a hassle. Who has the time to write a message in each one, address them all, and mail them out? This year, Hallmark introduced a helpful service — you buy the cards, choose the sentiment inside, and Hallmark will print, address, stamp and mail them for you. With just a few clicks of your mouse, your holiday cards will be off your to-do list and in the mail! But which card should you choose? There are so many! Here are 7 festive holiday cards to send… the ones I like best.

1. Red Flourish

Red Flourish
Price: $4.29 at hallmark.com
This 5 x 7 holiday card can be personalized with your family name on the front and any message you'd like on the inside. I love the modern design and the gorgeous shimmery red foil. If you don't like the red, no worries — the same design is available in other colors, too.

2. 'Nogged Up Kittens

'Nogged Up Kittens
Price: $3.49 at hallmark.com
Looks like these naughty kitties have had one too many cups of eggnog, and now they're ready for some mischief with the tree. Personalize this card with a message of your choosing, or stick with the one included: enjoy the simple pleasures of the holidays. Like eggnog and tree-tipping.

3. Jingle the Husky Pup

Jingle the Husky Pup
Price: $3.49 at hallmark.com
This card would be ideal to send to far-away family and friends. It features the super-adorable Jungle, a cartoon husky puppy, and his owner and friend. So cute! And if you like little Jingle, check out your nearest Hallmark Gold Crown store, because they have a whole range of plushies and more with this sweet little puppy.

8 Cute Pairs of Mittens and Gloves …

I love wearing mittens! They're so much cuter than gloves, and they keep my hands warmer, too! And this year, I've seen so many adorable pairs, most of them at one of my favorite online shops, ModCloth! If you're looking for a new pair of mittens (or two), keep reading! Here are 7 cute pairs of mittens.

1. Serve Chilled Wrist Warmers in Smart Cookie

Serve Chilled Wrist Warmers in Smart Cookie
Price: $31.99 at modcloth.com
These wrist warmers aren't technically "mittens" but they're so cute I had to include them anyway. They're made by Yummy You, and feature a wide knit cuff in marled brown, bright blue hands, and the yummiest-looking chocolate chip cookies ever! If you're not a fan on cookies (how can that be?), they also come in eggs-and-bacon and sweet strawberries.

2. Glove the One You’re With in Noir

Glove the One You're With in Noir
Price: $24.99 at modcloth.com
These inky black but ultra-soft gloves (not mittens) are made of 100% acrylic, so they're machine washable, and they're a little longer than most, so they're extra-warm. The cable knit design goes well with just about any of your coats, and the bow accent at the wrist announces how girlie-sweet you are!

3. Smitten Mittens in Cream

Smitten Mittens in Cream
Price: $19.99 at modcloth.com
I was already smitten with mittens before I met these, and now that I've seen them, I'm in love! I adore the sweet creamy color, and the extra-long length, and of course, the little caps over each hand to keep your fingers toasty and warm. I've put a pair on m holiday wish list so I can wear them with my navy pea coat.

8 Positive Ways of Remembering a Late Loved One …

At some point in our lives, all of us will face the sadness of losing a loved one. I've been through bereavement, and I still feel the loss every day, even after many years. However, I feel that one way of doing justice to the memory of someone you love is by remembering them in positive ways, such as the following examples …

1. Laughter

Laughter

When I'm gone, I'd much rather that people remember the things about me that made them laugh, than cry over me. Recently, on my late father's birthday, my sister and I had great fun recalling funny anecdotes (apparently he used to swear at the referee when they went to soccer matches). I find this image so hilarious, as I never even heard my dad swear at all!

2. Following In Their Footsteps

Following In Their Footsteps

Is there a particular quality you admired in your loved one, or an achievement that you were proud of? Try to emulate their attitude – it doesn't mean that you have to become a doctor if they were one, but rather that you approach what you do with the same enthusiasm and commitment.

3. Images

Have some photos of your loved one on display and watch videos that feature them. We have old photographic slides of the family, so we get the projector out occasionally. That's guaranteed to cause much hysteria looking at the dated fashions and hairstyles!

7 of My Favorite Celebrity Pigs …

Sometimes, the more I learn about people, the more I like non-humans, the adorable, sweet, faithful animals we know and love who never let us down or judge us for wearing the wrong shoes or gaining five pounds. I'm not just talking about cats and dogs and the occasional pet bunny — I mean pigs. I like to celebrate these precious animals by watching some of their antics on TV or reading about them in books, because they're just as kind and incredibly sweet in make-believe as they are in real life, with one glaring exception, who you'll see in number 7. Here are 7 of my favorite celebrity pigs.

1. Babe

Babe
Price: $11.49 at amazon.com
Babe is the only live-action pig I truly adore, and not just because of his stunning physique or perfect skin. He's just so sweet, unsure at first who he is (or even what species) and then charming all of the other barnyard animals, including of course The Farmer. Babe thinks he's a sheep-herding dog… and by the end of the movie, you'll think so, too.

2. Wilbur from "Charlotte's Web"

Wilbur from
Price: $11.55 at amazon.com
Wilbur is all innocence, and combined with his sweet temper and faithfulness to his friends, he makes the perfect hero for this book. Of course, he'd have been pork chops in the first few pages if it wasn't for Charlotte, the marvelous spider who makes everyone love him, and Fern, the little girl who coddles him and loves him before Charlotte's tricks. I've never met a little girl who didn't love this book, and this sweet little piglet. Or who didn't cry a little at the end.

3. Olivia

Olivia
Price: $12.23 at amazon.com
Olivia is precocious, daring, bold, and highly intelligent, which is a lot to say about a five-year-old pig. While I enjoy the animated show on Nick Jr., she's more charming in her books, especially the original, by Ian Falconer. My favorite is the original, titled simply, "Olivia," but they're all quite good.

10 Beautifully Strange Buildings I Want to See …

Architecture interests me. Partly because my sister studied it and partly because I am in awe of the many wonderful things that man can make/build. Now there are traditionally beautiful buildings in the world. Then we have the types that make you go “whoa!” I have gathered here 10 that I dream of seeing in this lifetime. These 10 are what I call the “magical-strange” types, if you know what I mean…

1. Ferdinand Cheval Palace

This was built by a French postman and called Le Palais Ideal or the Ideal Palace. Experts call it an example of “naive art.” Sounds rather mean, doesn’t it? But I guess it doesn’t matter now because the place looks eerily gorgeous. Looks like a sand castle made by fairies or something.

2. Conch Shell House

This is located in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. This one is obviously beach-themed. It was designed by Octavio Ocampo. Could he be Poseidon in human form?

3. Hobbit House

You can’t get any more magical than a house inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien. The best part about this house (location: Wales, UK) is that it is a low-impact structure; it was built with the environment in mind. Here is a fact that blows my mind: it has a fridge cooled by air coming from underground, through foundations. That is insanely cool.

4. Stone House

This awesome structure can be found in  Portugal. It looks like something straight out of a Studio Ghibli movie, doesn’t it? It must be cold  inside…

5. Wooden Gagster House

This reminds me a bit of A Series of Unfortunate Events. It was built by an ex-convict, who has claimed that he only intended to build a 2-storey wooden cabin. He ended up with a 144-feet, 13-floor house that didn’t look anywhere near complete.  Sadly, this has been demolished so seeing this will forever remain a dream.

10 Hot Jimmy Choo Boots …

I am a huge fan of boots. I love Payless boots, designer boots, booties, thigh highs, and ankle boots. I'm an enormous fan of Jimmy Choo too. Like, if Brian Molko ever actually said to me, "Let's spend the night at Jimmy Choo's," I'd be all over that. Since I'm not yet a best-selling author or anything, I can't actually afford them, but it doesn't cost a thing to look. That being said, here are 10 hot Jimmy Choo boots I would love to own.

1. The Fei Bootie

The Fei Bootie
Price: $1,695.00 at shop.nordstrom.com
I don't know what it is about me and pink lately, but I'm all kinds of into various shades. It either has to be a bright, hot, rosy kind of pink or something like this: delicate and feminine. I love the look of filigree and the overlay mixed with the mesh. You could rock this casually with a pair of jeans, you could dress up basic black business attire by adding them, or you could go formal with any number of things.

2. The Motorcycle Boot

The Motorcycle Boot
Price: $895.00 at shop.nordstrom.com
Okay, I'll be honest. I don't ride a motorcycle. Due to an unfortunate incident on a motorcycle simulation at Billy Bob's Wonderland when I was a kid, I'm actually deathly afraid of motorcycles. However, I love biker style, and I love these boots. Simple but rugged, they are like biker haute couture.

3. The Ernest Over-the-Knee Boot

The Ernest Over-the-Knee Boot
Price: $1,295.00 at shop.nordstrom.com
There's just something hot about boots that hit above the knee. I might still be caught up in the Clueless fashion aesthetic, but a tasteful short skirt paired with high boots is just so cute! I could never pull it off, but a pair like these make me want to try. They are actually designed in the equestrian style, and feature both a zipper and elastic around the top.

8 Pretty Holiday Throw Pillows …

There's no easier way to add a touch of holiday cheer to a room than by adding a festive throw pillow to a chair, sofa, or bed. And there are so many gorgeous, merry throws to choose from! I've been searching for a few new ones for my living room and guest room, and I found a bunch at one of my favorite home décor shops. Here are 8 pretty holiday throw pillows from Crate & Barrel.

1. Crate & Barrel Merrie 12″ Pillow

Crate & Barrel Merrie 12
Price: $24.95 at crateandbarrel.com
I don't know why, but this throw pillow reminds me of a holiday-themed cupcake. Look at the stumpy brown tree trunk, and the fluffy green tree (with a marshmallow-white bird perched on top). See what I mean? I think this would be perfect

2. Crate & Barrel Alpine Red 18″ Pillow

Crate & Barrel Alpine Red 18
Price: $34.95 at crateandbarrel.com
I love the contemporary look and feel of this square pillow! It features a deep red felt background with appliqués and embroidery to look like pine needles, boughs, and holly berries in shades of two green and creamy white. This would look so pretty on a neutral beige sofa, especially paired with the coordinating pillow in item 7 and a deep red throw blanket.

3. Crate & Barrel Tartan Plaid 18″ Square Pillow

Crate & Barrel Tartan Plaid 18
Price: $26.95 at crateandbarrel.com
Why does a green and red tartan plaid always remind me of Christmas? This pillow is done in a rustic traditional tartan, so it would look so pretty with a cream-colored slip-covered couch, or any chair or sofa with wood accents.

8 Ways to Stand Up for Yourself …

8 Ways to Stand Up for Yourself …

Standing up for yourself can be difficult. For all the smack I talk when I write, in person I avoid confrontation like the plague because I'm so unsure about how to go about standing up for myself and what I want. Even when you're confident in yourself, knowing how to be assertive without being confrontation can take some practice or at least some advice, so here are 8 things you need to know.

1. Understand what it means to be assertive

Many people do not really understand what it means to be assertive. They think that asserting themselves means they should act aggressive. Truthfully, to properly assert yourself, you simply have to be truthful and confident but still polite. You firmly assert your opinions without being rude, but neither do you let anyone walk all over you. Once you understand what being assertive means, then you are ready to be assertive.

2. Trust in yourself

If you don't believe in yourself, what you're saying, or in your opinions, you can't expect anyone else to believe in those things. Trust in what you're saying and doing. Whether you're standing up to a friend, approaching a colleague, or meeting with your boss, have faith in your message and your beliefs.

3. Go in with a good attitude

Attitude is everything when it comes to standing up for yourself. The person you're talking to will respond to the right attitude. You should be positive without being fake or forced, but not eager to please. Being willing to compromise is one thing, but you can't go into a situation feeling like you'll be willing to do anything to make someone else happy, even if it means sacrificing what's best for you.

I do not know about you, but I love it when my husband grabs me from behind and puts his hands on my waist. It seems to be a very romantic gesture – in my book.

8. Letting Her be the Dominated One

Maybe she does not want to be the submissive one. Maybe it is time for you to let her control you and tell you what to do. This is actually a move that many women want their guy to make. Do I like it? Of course I do.

7. Blindfold before the Sauce

It is really something when you are blindfolded and laying there, anticipating when the guy is going to drizzle some type of sauce on you. They make things specially for this, so if you do not want chocolate sauce all over your chest, you are in luck.

8 Remedies for Morning Sickness …

Having a baby is supposed to be a joy, but it's hard to be happy when you feel utterly crummy. Morning sickness is one of those things that tend to afflict most pregnant women during the first 3 to 4 months of their pregnancy. So far, I haven't heard of anyone saying they liked experiencing this ill feeling in the morning, which is probably why there are so many methods of warding this sickness off. Here are 8 remedies for morning sickness for you to use or pass on to others.

8. Acupressure bands

Acupressure bands

Motion sickness bands apply pressure to specific points on the wrist that alleviate that queasy feeling when traveling in cars, planes, or on boats. These tend to work for most people. Acupressure bands are available for women suffering from morning sickness as well. A few types are; NoQweez, PsiBands, and The Acu-Strap. Some are more expensive than others, but all basically do the same thing.

7. Chamomile tea

Chamomile tea

I'm probably one of the few people that actually become nauseated by chamomile tea. Even the smell of chamomile tea has an adverse effect on me, but it seems to work for almost everybody else. I think it might be purely psychological on my part. I was having a rough day once when I had the flu and was drinking chamomile tea at the time. I guess when chamomile tea comes shooting out of your nose when you're sick; the smell of it tends to stir up negative memories!

6. Soda crackers

Soda crackers

When I was pregnant, soda crackers in the morning worked for me every time. Granted, I never had violent attacks of morning sickness like my mom or a couple of my friends did. A couple of crackers right when I woke up in the morning seemed to do the trick for the mild case of nausea I experienced. If you are all out of saltines, then take a pinch of baking soda and stir it into a small glass of water. Sipping this concoction should have a similar effect, but it doesn't taste nearly as good.

7 Secrets of Staying Young …

For most people staying young is a great challenge because of many things concerning: every day stress, lack of time, or even money. In our times people that passed the age of fifty refuse to be called old, they make sport, keep diets .Smokers for example usually look older than the rest, depressed people and alcoholic also. Our face can talk about the health problems that we have, people who laugh much have the tendency to look younger. Let's see some secrets about how to maintain ourselves young for as many years as possible in our lifetime…

First sign of a short sleepless night is seen on the face. Sleep is a unique moment for our cells when they can regenerate and divide in silence so there is no reason for us to spend our nights awake, if we respect our bodies we will receive youth back.

5. Little sun exposure

Even if it brings good mood and joy it is also responsible for skin degradation over time, especially over the age of fifty, it is good to walk in the sun, but we must not abuse it. A good consume of water or any liquid daily is recommended for hydrating the skin.

8 Ways to Make your Laptop Battery Last Longer …

8 Ways to Make your Laptop Battery Last Longer …

Replacing a worn out battery for my laptop is never something I look forward to. I’ve gathered 8 ways to make your laptop battery last longer. Some of these tips include things you can do differently while using your computer and others include basic aspects of battery care. I have found that different brands of laptop batteries tend to outlast others, so this is always something to keep in mind as well.

8. Limit game playing and video watching

These two tasks really drain a battery in no time at all. The graphics in games are amazing and very taxing on a computer. Your laptop battery has to work extra hard to keep everything running smoothly during game play, so naturally lots of energy is used up when games are being played. This is also true when watching videos. If you need to conserve battery power, avoid watching videos or playing games at all.

7. Drain the battery completely every now and then

Everything that I’ve read over the years states that not using all the juice your battery contains and continuing to charge it regularly causes the battery to hold less and less charge each time. It’s best to use your battery power up completely at least once a month, if not a couple of times each month and then charge the battery.

6. Turn down the monitor brightness

This will conserve your battery power. The more power the laptop is using to increase the brightness of the screen, the less power your battery will have over time. By reducing the brightness level of the monitor you will save battery power that can then be used for other purposes. I usually keep the brightness level on the lower side at all times.

7 Downsides of Being a Freelancer …

Last time I wrote about freelancing, it kind of occurred to me that I've pointed out only the positive aspects. Now, I still think freelancing is a creative, liberating job but I've also wanted to point out that, like every job, it has some bad sides too. So, if you're thinking about letting your creative genius out and starting a business on your own it's only fair to give you a complete information, right? So, yup, freelancers like their career choice even though it involves some risks. Not all is black and white even on the Internet so be prepared to face some of these 7 challenges:

1. No live communication

No live communication

Messages can be misinterpreted and there's even funny story about a simple grammar mistake that saved a person's life to back that up. Facial expressions and body language can sometimes speak louder than the actual words plus, asking questions and receiving answers and additional info in person is much easier and less time consuming.

2. Good and bad competition

I think everybody should feel free to develop their talents and find different, creative ways to use them. This is, of course, a good, healthy dose of competition that might cause you to lose some jobs at first but will help you become better in the long run. The real problem is the other type of competition- the bad one. You see, I've seen plenty of freelancers that cheat in order to get a certain job. Presenting other people's work as their own, offering to get the job done for a ridiculously low price and then raising the price to normal after they have been selected or posing as somebody else to fit the profile… and that's just some of their tactics! They can't hurt you in the long run because their lack of skill or professionalism will show sooner or later but you'll have to agree that they bring bad reputation to the table and they make employers become very rigorous and reluctant to trust other freelancers.
