I love blazers especially, since they can be layered with just about anything, from skirts to leggings to skinny jeans. I'm always looking for a new one to add to my closet, and a quick peek at ModCloth (my fave online shop) has revealed some new ones I'm adding to my must-have list! Here are 8 gorgeous blazers. 1. Great Lunch Break Blazer
2. Afternoon Symphony Jacket

Posted: 17 Jan 2011 10:53 AM PST Who says you have to wait until dark to go on a date? There are tons of fun things you can do while the sun is still out in the sky, although some couples are wary of going out then. They think there’s nothing fun to do! Check out these 8 daytime date ideas, though, and see if they change your mind! 1. Visit a Museumhttp://s3prod.weheartit.netdna-cdn.com/images/5877377/tumblr_le5gmj935Z1qdhv0go1_500_large.jpg?1293644963 Going to a museum is a great idea for a daytime date. There are so many things you can do and so many things the two of you can explore together. Heck, just think of Ferris Bueller. He, Sloane, and Cam had a blast at the museum on his day off. You and your date can enjoy a little culture shock while exploring all the different exhibits. 2. Take a Hikehttp://s3prod.weheartit.netdna-cdn.com/images/1447363/tumblr_kx0sseV2uw1qarvi2o1_500_large.jpg?1265341119 If you like staying active and being in nature, then this is a perfect idea. Better still, you can actually do it no matter what the weather. You might not want to go out hiking in the rain, but some people love nothing more than walking through warm summer showers, for instance. And even in the winter, you can take snowshoes or cross country skis and be on your way. 3. Have a Picnichttp://s3prod.weheartit.netdna-cdn.com/images/5199041/tumblr_lckrecojBx1qbzc1lo1_500_large.jpg?1290915485 Spring, summer, and fall are the perfect seasons for this kind of daytime date. It is romantic, sweet, and sadly overlooked. People still go on picnics, of course, but it seems like fewer and fewer couples consider this a date idea. That’s sad, because it’s the perfect way to spend some time together, it doesn’t cost a lot, and you can pretty much do it at any hour of the day.
Posted: 17 Jan 2011 10:40 AM PST To coin a phrase, couples frequently need to find a way to bring sexy back into their relationships. Whether you’re with someone new, whether you’re dating, a newlywed, or if you’ve been married for years, sometimes the spark starts to dim a little. Daily routines make it harder and harder to keep things exciting. However, you don’t have to indulge in a lot of PDAs to be sexy with your partner. In fact, here are 8 G-rated ways to be sexy that will bring back the spark in a flash! 1. Sweat TogetherNow, this one may sound dirty, but what it means is that you should be active with your partner. That doesn’t necessarily mean working out together at a gym or taking a Pilates class together, either. Something as simple as going on a hike or a bike ride can be very exciting. You can go rollerblading together or anything like that, and it will be more than the ensuing release of endorphins that will make you both feel sexy! 2. Read TogetherReading together or, better yet, to one another is an excellent way to be intimate with one another – and you can do it in public! The options here are endless: you can read aloud from your favorite book, read passionate passages from a good romance, or read poetry to one another. This is a deeply intimate activity, and you’ll be surprised at how sexy it can be. 3. Hold HandsIn this day and age, the little things often fall by the wayside. They don’t seem as exciting. However, something as simple as hand holding can be very intimate and even arousing. The hands and fingers can be huge erogenous zones. Simply sliding your fingers back and forth between the spaces of your partner’s fingers can really light a spark.
7 Tips For Finding A Lost Pet … Posted: 17 Jan 2011 10:02 AM PST One of the worst things about owning pets is when they go missing. One of my cats didn't come home one night – fortunately we soon worked out that she was shut in a neighbour's shed, but that short time of wondering what had happened to her was awful. Here are some tips for what to do if your pet becomes lost. 1. MicrochipMy cats are unlikely to escape (unless they want to try their luck at abseiling down several floors), but I have still taken the precaution of having them microchipped. It was worth it for the peace of mind it gives me. So always have your pets chipped – and don't forget to update your details with the registry if you move house or change your phone number. 2. Check Your HomeIt never fails to amaze me how even in my small flat, my cats still manage to find new hiding places. I think they have perfected the art of camouflage. So search your house thoroughly before panicking. Look everywhere inside and out – even under the car or on the roof. Cats manage to get everywhere. 3. Ask AroundYour first action should be to ask the neighbours if they have seen your pet. Being nosy, many cats manage to get themselves shut in sheds and garages. So ask people to check. Also watch out for any houses that are having work done, and ask the builders if they've seen any animals.
Posted: 17 Jan 2011 09:17 AM PST I've been an eBayer for more than ten years, buying and selling with a perfect rating since 1999. While I think the fee structure to sellers is a little unfair, I still love eBay as a buyer, and I can't imagine a world without eBay. Why am I such a devoted fan? Here are 7 reasons I love eBay. 1. The bargainsThat sterling silver Tiffany Notes ring is $100 in the catalog, but on eBay, it's up for auction starting at $12. That Victoria's Secret Pink University of Michigan tee sells in stores for $40, but the opening bid on the exact same one with the tags still attached was less than $2. This is the reason I love eBay the most: the bargains. Oh, the bargains! 2. The thrill of the chaseI admit that sometimes I end up bidding a little more than I wanted to because I was engaged in a friendly bidding war. There's something very exciting about bidding on an item, and waiting to see if you'll win. After a while, you adopt a strategy, or bid in some weird amount, or watch as the seconds tick down… it's fun! 3. The hard-to-findNo matter what you're looking for, from rare coins to children's clothing, you'll find it on eBay. That includes hard-to-find and collectible items, too. I can honestly say that there has never been an item I've looked for that I haven't been able to find; remember that you have access to sellers from around the world!
Posted: 17 Jan 2011 08:12 AM PST If you are looking for a guy, then there are 8 places guys hang out that I can think of. It is up to you whether or not you would like to meet a guy in these places and remember, you should never let your guard down. 8. BarYes, guys do hang out in the bar. However, it is important to remind yourself that sometimes, picking up a guy in the bar may equal trouble. However, this is not always true. Just always be careful when meeting new men, no matter where you meet them. 7. The GymMany guys go to the gym, right? In fact, there are many single guys that hang out in the gym – single guys that might be interested in you. So, grab your gym bag and head to the gym. 6. Watching the Latest Horror FlickCome on, besides action, guys like scary things. There are plenty of guys catching up on the latest horror flick, so the move theatre is definitely going to be on my list. At least, this is something I have noticed in my area. Every time I go to a theatre to see the latest horror flick, I always see plenty of guys there.
9 Tips on How To Save Money Without Having To Give Up Dinning Out … Posted: 17 Jan 2011 06:55 AM PST Dining out with friends and family is a fun and relaxing but, unfortunately, quite expensive experience not everybody is able to afford. You could probably manage to take your family out to a nice restaurant once every month or even two or three, but wouldn't it just be great it if you could do it a bit more often? Well, it definitely would and you definitely can do that – if you know how to save, that is. So, here are some things you might consider doing: 1. Chose a nice but not overly fancy restaurantFancy décor usually means you're going to suffer a minor heart attack when you look at the prices in the menu, plus, the food may turn out to be less than what you've expected. So pick a nice, local restaurant that's going to make you feel comfortable – the experience might not be the one you'd get from sitting in a glitzy dining hall but the portions are probably much larger and they cost considerably less, too. 2. Check the size of the portionRead the menu carefully or ask the waiter how many grams of meat the portion you're about to order contains. You can't eat 300 grams of meat, now, can you? That's about the size of two, maybe even three hamburgers! 3. Share the foodMy fiancé and I share everything from entrées and salads to the actual meal. So, if you realize the portion you're about to order is too big, ask the people you're dining out with to split it. In most smartly picked restaurants one portion is big enough for two people.
8 Birthday Traditions from Around the World … Posted: 17 Jan 2011 06:55 AM PST I am always interested in what other countries do during Birthday's, New Year's and other events. Right now, I am going to tell you 8 Birthday traditions from around the world for children … 8. Ghananhttp://blog.ecards.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/kenya2.jpg In Ghanan, on their birthday, the children wake up in the morning with a special treat they call "oto." This is a patty that is made from eggs and sweet potato that has been fried in palm oil. Later, they hold a part where they usually consume rice and stew along with a dish called "kelewele." Kelewele is fried plantain chunks. When the child turns one years of age, they believe this is an important event. The parents may tell the baby's fortune by putting the baby in the center of some objects, like a doll, coins and a book. Then, they watch to see which object the baby tries to pick up. If the baby chose the coin, then he/she may be rich, if the baby reached for the doll, then he/she may have many children and if the baby reached for the book he/she may be a teacher. 7. Chinahttp://farm4.static.flickr.com/3050/3017352859_cb7238b238.jpg In China, if you give someone a clock for their birthday, then it is considered bad luck. In Mandarin, the word "clock" is similar to death. On another note, many believe tigers protect the children, so the family members may bring the newborn some gifts decorated with tigers. 6. Indianhttp://farm5.static.flickr.com/4038/4479761980_4185663242_z.jpg On the 1st Birthday of a Hindu child, the head will be shaved by a special fire. By removing the hair, they are cleansing the child of evil from past lives. This tradition symbolizes the renewal of the soul. The child will wear colorful clothes to school and will give chocolates to the class. As a sign of respect, they will kneel and touch the parents feet.

Posted: 17 Jan 2011 02:27 AM PST I've always had difficulty staying warm during the cooler months. Being a woman, I've had to come up with numerous methods of staying warm. The female body is designed to gather and contain all body heat at the core, for reproductive purposes. It makes sense that this tactic is necessary when a woman becomes pregnant, but why not allow the warmth to spread to the rest of the body when there isn't a baby to keep warm? Here are my 7 tips on keeping warm. Maybe you'll find something that works well for you! 7. Invest in a heating padI have a large heating pad that I can plug in next to the desk when I have work to do at the computer. Sometimes I only need to use the low setting. The hard part is fighting off the cats that try to steal the warmth as well. I can turn the heating pad on low and either sit on it or place it on my lap. I've also found that cranking it on the HIGH setting works perfect for warming up cold feet. 6. Make a rice or flax pillowFlax seed is the best for making a microwaveable heating pad, but it needs to be whole flax seeds and not flax meal. If you are looking for a cheaper alternative, then rice works well also. I've heard of some people using dried corn kernels too, but they don't hold the heat for very long. It's the oil in the flax seed that retains the heat. I have a piece of fleece material that is sewn into a tube shape and filled with flax seeds. This long narrow pillow is placed in the microwave for 4 minutes, which heats it up quite nicely. 5. Wear layersI learned this tip when I was in college. Synthetic fabrics are actually better for layering than cotton clothing. It seems like a couple of layers of fleece or synthetic long underwear and a wool sweater keep me a lot warmer than 4 or 5 layers of cotton. The synthetic clothing tends to wick moisture away from the body and cotton holds the moisture right next to the skin. Water sucks heat from the body 25 times faster, so damp cotton clothing is going to make you much colder.
| Posted: 17 Jan 2011 01:48 AM PST The traditional pets households tend to have are cats, dogs, birds, and fish, but there are tons of exotic animals that make truly amazing pets as well. I've listed 7 fun animals to have as pets. There is a wide range of animals listed below. Some are outside animals and others can be kept in a small enclosure indoors. 7. Ringtail Lemur
The bright orange eyes of these animals stand out against his steel gray fur. Their long ringed tails are what cause this type of lemur to stand out from the rest of the lemur family. In the wild, these animals are considered endangered. I've seen some breeders that sell babies from captive pairs of animals. Supposedly they make great pets and are extremely entertaining. 6. CoatimundiThe Coatimundi is part of the raccoon family, which is where the ringed tail comes in. These animals look like a cross between a raccoon and a badger. They can live to be as old as 15 years in captivity. Coatimundis are very loving animals, but too active to want to sit on your lap like a cat. Just like the raccoon, a Coatimundi is very skillful with his hands. They are able to open latches, turn door knobs, and get into all sorts of trouble! 5. Siberian Chipmunk
This type of chipmunk has stripes running from head to tail and can live up to 10 years. Once a chipmunk trusts the human in charge of feeding him, he will bond with this human. Placing a t-shirt with your personal scent on it is a great way to get the chipmunk used to your scent, if you are looking into getting a Siberian chipmunk to have as a pet. |
Posted: 17 Jan 2011 12:48 AM PST It’s morning! Rise and shine! Do you have a problem just hearing that alarm and getting up? I do! I don’t do mornings very well at all. So, here are a few things I have found that help me to hop to it when morning comes! 1. Set More Than One AlarmSure, go ahead and set an alarm right beside you, where snooze is close by, but if you really need to get up, set another, more annoying alarm in the next room, or at lease across the room where you must get out of bed to turn it off. That’s sure to get you up – as long as you don’t dive back in the bed! 2. Watch Your BedtimeI don’t know what it is with us adults, but for some reason, we think that because we’re all grown up now, that bedtime doesn’t matter anymore. However, if you have to get up at 6 A.M. it isn’t wise to be awake at 1 and 2 in the morning! Go to bed! 3. Love CaffeineIf you haven’t fallen in love already, it is a good idea to start dating Mr. Coffee! I hate black coffee and because of that, I’ve stayed away from coffee for years. Lately, I’ve discovered the deliciousness of International Delight creamers that come in a variety of awesome flavors! I have fallen in love the Chocolate Caramel, and my favorite, Caramel Mocchiato!
Posted: 17 Jan 2011 12:15 AM PST Ah, the glamorous world of celebrities! Expensive clothes, expensive shoes, nice rides and glamorous parties. These people are famous, they don't need to be smart. They are rich so they don't have to be nice. They are expected to look good all the time so they must inject themselves with liters and liters of silicone. But, you know… those procedures hurt so there's drugs and alcohol to take the pain away. LOL! Now, seriously – what's wrong with celebrities today? What happened with the time when celebs had to have talent, acts nicely and couldn't throw random beverages on press representatives? Here take a look at these 7 morally and mentally crippled ones, whose only chance to even come close to a role model is to have their picture put in a magazine next to one: 1. Heidi Montaghttp://s3prod.weheartit.netdna-cdn.com/images/4520968/HEIDI-MONTAG-PLASTIC-SURGERY-PHOTOS_large.jpg?1287737054 She was really pretty until the decision to become a talking, walking Barbie doll! She did like, what, 10 procedures in a day? 12? Poor girl, I guess the only thing this new, refurbished version of FrankenHeidi doesn't have is a brain. There's one good thing about this, thought. If they ever decide to make a female version of Inspector Gadget, I know who's going to get the role. 2. Lindsay Lohanhttp://evilbeetgossip.film.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/lindsay-lohan-purple-small-06-500×335.jpg Long, long time ago, she used to be an actress. And a pretty decent one, if I may add. Today, LiLo is nothing more than a train wreck, a perfect example of something you don't want to become. She had problems, I know but how come these celebrity kids always end up with some terrible problems? Huh? They can at least afford a therapist and a rehab – what's going to happen with troubled teens who see her drunk and stoned and start thinking it's a logical way to solve problems?
7 Easy Ways to Lose Your Boyfriend … Posted: 17 Jan 2011 12:13 AM PST You want to lose that boyfriend? While I believe in simply coming out of the closet and telling the guy you no longer want to be with him, I do understand that some girls do find it hard to tell the guy they no longer want to see them. Therefore, they try to find ways to get rid of him. Now, I am going to give you some tips, but doing things could cause a lot of anger from the guy and messing with emotions aren't safe. Below are 7 easy ways to lose your boyfriend. 7. Not Spend Time with HimI think this would be a great way to lose him. Every time he asks you if you would spend some time with him, tell him that you will be busy. When he asks what you will be busy doing, for some additional anger, don't tell him. 6. Don't CommunicateWe all known that communication is the key to having a healthy relationship, right? So, stop communicating with your boyfriend, but only do this if you want to lose him. 5. Argue with Him about Anything and EverythingGuys don't like arguing. I don't think anyone likes to argue. Wait, correct that, I know a couple of people that seem to like picking arguments, but anyone in their right mind would not want to constantly argue in a relationship. Arguing, to a certain degree, is fine and is normal, but when it is all the time and over everything – you do not want to do that.
