| 7 Fun Viral Videos of the Past Year … Posted: 02 Feb 2011 11:11 AM PST I love viral videos. Quite often, the Tubes suck me in for hours and hours – I think I’ve mentioned before, I sometimes get hypnotized by the Numa Numa guy. 2010 was a great year for viral videos, and I’ve found 7 of them that make me literally LMAO. I hope you get some chuckles too! 1. Double Rainbow GuyOh this guy. This guy is awesome. What’s really funny about this to me is that maybe a week before I first watched it, there was a double rainbow over my house! And I had much the same reaction, I admit. Okay, I didn’t cry or anything, but I did freak out just a little bit and it’s possible I even yelled out, "What does it meeeaaan?!?" 2. Willow Smith, "Whip My Hair"It stands to reason that any child made out of the composite parts of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith would be awesome. Jaden Smith is shaping up to be a fine little actor, and Willow Smith only took a week to take the entire world by storm. My hair isn’t long enough to whip, exactly, but if it was, I am quite sure I would be dancing right along with the girl. |

While that may sound dreary, it sure doesn't have to be! There are lots of clever ways to use fashion to chase those grey clouds away! Here are 7 ways to celebrate a rainy day. 1. I Heart Umbrellas
 2. Raindrops Keep Falling Umbrella
 3. Tell the Chartreuse Coat

| 8 Albums you Should Own on Vinyl … Posted: 02 Feb 2011 09:57 AM PST I'm not really a music purist, but even I know that certain artists and songs sound better on vinyl than they do digitally, or on CD. Somehow, the crackles, pops, and sounds are richer, the tones deeper and rounder… don't believe me? Give any of these LPs a listen, and see what you think! Here are 8 albums you should own on vinyl. 1. The Beatles – Abbey Road
 2. Bon Iver – For Emma, Forever Ago
 3. The Strokes – Is This It

| 7 Tips on Getting Traffic to Your Blog … Posted: 02 Feb 2011 09:55 AM PST When you have a blog, it is important that you get traffic to it. Without traffic, who do you think you will be writing those blogs for? They'll look all lonely sitting there without comments. Which reminds me, when you first start a blog, you may want to make it where comments are hidden, until you start to get them – that way your blog doesn't look lonely. Below, I am going to give you 7 tips on getting traffic to your blog … 7. Host Your Blog On Your DomainHosting your blog on a different domain than your primary site is a big mistake. When you have a blog on your domain, you will be attracting links, publicity, search rankings, attention and even trust. If you put your blog on a separate domain, then you will be shooting yourself in your foot. 6. Fresh ContentYou should always have fresh content on your blog. Do you see Allwomanestalk.com? We are sure to keep fresh content up here for you to read. 5. SEOSEO stands for search engine optimization. Before you work on a blog or website, it is important that you learn some tips and techniques on SEO. On my site, you'll come across an Ebook, that ebook is all about SEO that I have written. |
| Top 7 US Cities for Single Women … Posted: 02 Feb 2011 09:53 AM PST If your job needs you to move around, you need to know which are the best cities for single women in the US. The list that follows offers some exciting destination choices to further your career, enhance your education, find affordable housing and maybe even meet the love of your life. So before you take that job transfer see if your new home will be in any of cities mentioned in the list that follows: 1. Boston
Boston tops the list as the one of the best cities for single women. Firstly it has not been as impacted by the recession as other cities in the US, its employment level is two points lower than the national average. Secondly, housing is surprisingly less expensive than the other metros on the East Coast. This combination of cheap living expenses and fat salaries make it an ideal location for the single woman looking for a comfortable life. 2. Washington DC
Want a touch of glamour in your daily life, move to Washington DC. A city bursting with foreign dignitaries and international political workers, you are sure to find something and someone exotic. You can enjoy a lucrative career working for the government and if that doesn't suit you, try any of the other hundreds of companies hiring in the capital. 3. New York
Think New York and think Sex and the City. The show has forever immortalized the island as one of the best cities for single women and to be fair, it sure is. Nowhere else can you find an eclectic mix of culture, fashion, the arts and professional life. Everyone wants to visit New York so if you are one of the lucky few actually living there, enjoy it for as long as you can. |
| 7 Things Not to Say at our Next Job Interview … Posted: 02 Feb 2011 08:58 AM PST Have you ever walked out of an interview feeling kind of uncomfortable? You know something went wrong but you're not quite sure what? Don't worry girls, I think everyone's been there. Try not to beat yourself up about it. Think of it rather as a learning experience: you'll move on and do better next time. To help you with this, I've put together a list of things you should avoid saying at all costs … 1. How much will I be paid?Unless the interviewers raise this question themselves, girls, don't bring it up. Asking it gives the impression that you're only interested in the money and not in doing the actual job at hand. Usually the money is discussed at the second interview, so save this question til then. 2. So, what's this company all about?Avoid statements and questions that show you don't know a lot about the business you're applying to. Interviewers expect you to have done plenty of research before arriving at the appointment. Instead, ask detailed questions which prove you've done some reading. These are bound to impress and get you in the good books. 3. F#$K! (or anything else profane)Girls, it might be a habit and you might think its okay, but avoid all curse words like the plague. Play it as safe as you can in terms of slang as well, and try to speak in language that is neutral and inoffensive. |
| Posted: 02 Feb 2011 08:43 AM PST Most high school students share one fear – college. A lot of people get stressed out when they think about getting rejected from the college or university of their choice. But have no fear! This article will help you start prepping for college… 1. Join a Sport’s Team
A lot of universities look at whether you’ve played a sport or not. Plus, being involved in sports is a great way to stay active. You can also earn scholarships from playing certain sports, which will help you a lot. 2. Join a Club or Other After School Activities
Along with sports, colleges also look at whether you’ve been involved in some sort of after school activity. A few good examples would be SADD (Students Against Drunk Driving), community outreach, or even a foreign language club. This is also a good way to meet new people, and just have fun! 3. Maintain a Good GPA Throughout Your High School Years
Maintaining at least a 3.0 GPA is a very good idea. Colleges look at your cumulative GPA, and depending on your ACT/SAT scores universities won’t even consider letting someone with a low GPA in. But no worries, if you have troubles with your high school grades, you can go to a community college first, and maintain a good GPA there, then transfer to a higher university. |
| Posted: 02 Feb 2011 07:12 AM PST I think a pretty bow is a great finishing touch to a girlie outfit, but there are so many times I've seen bows go wrong. The wrong bow on the wrong top, dress, shoe, bag, or accessory can just look silly, but on the other hand, the right bow on the right bag looks great! Here are 8 ways to wear bows… 1. Flurry Up Top
 2. Cherry Soda Bag
 3. Bow So Sweet Headband

| 8 Reasons Not To Be Influenced By Media Images … Posted: 02 Feb 2011 07:08 AM PST It is frequently observed how women are influenced by images in the media, especially those of celebrities. We apparently want to look like them, dress like them and be as slim as them. Well, it's a debatable point if this influence is as pervasive as it's made out to be, but there are certainly sound reasons not to be so affected by such images. 1. Airbrushing
Or rather, its modern counterpart Photoshop. I imagine that no magazine image goes untouched. I dare say we could all look fabulous with some Photoshopping! Sometimes it's really obvious. So why be influenced by something that isn't natural? 2. Selective
The pictures that we see of models and celebrities are carefully chosen to present an image. It might be stating the obvious, but the magazines don't just pick the first photo and say 'That'll do!'. A great deal of work has gone into each photographic display. 3. Stylists
Every time you see an image of a star, behind it is a team of stylists and makeup artists. Unless it's one of those articles at the other end of the spectrum that makes fun of stars without makeup! Since the rest of us have to dress ourselves and choose our own image, we're never going to look like the celebrities (and seeing what some of the stylists achieve, that's probably a very good thing). |
| 7 Things I Would Do Differently Than Disney Princesses … Posted: 02 Feb 2011 06:54 AM PST If I was a princess, I bed I'd be the strangest one of them all! Yup, dealing with me would sure give Walt Disney a chronic migraine. I'd cause quite a disturbance in the magical world of fairies and talking animals but I'm afraid you would never get to hear about it. Why? Because there wouldn't be anything to talk about… that is, unless you want to hear the story of a princess that never got into any huge trouble and has always managed to successfully rescue herself! You see, that's why I'll never be a princess. But, just for the fun of it, let me tell you about what I would do differently… 1. I wouldn't listen to strangersWhat is it with strangers and princesses? It seems like they're just dying to accept any ridiculous idea, as long as it's suggested by a complete stranger. Poke yourself on a needle! Eat this tasty looking poisonous apple! Don't mind the fact that I'm the creepiest looking lady you've ever seen, just do as I tell you! Phew! 2. I wouldn't let others bully meIf I were Cinderella, I'd tell those nasty stepsisters what to do with the stupid broom! And it involves the action of sticking and one place where even sun doesn't shine! Seriously, I'm really not the type that sits around waiting to be rescued, I prefer to handle things my own way. I know what you're going to say now – a good princess just has to suck it up and wait. Right? But, what happens if the prince doesn't come or is terribly late? I wouldn't like to wake up one day and realize than I'm an old lady who made a career out of being everybody's boxing bag. 3. I'd ask for coffeeIf I were enchanted and sleeping for so many years, it would take much more than a kiss to wake me up. In fact, I bet a super sized cup of coffee is what I would have asked for. Oh, yeah, and a big sandwich! Do Disney princesses ever eat? I mean, do they eat anything but those things offered to them by strangers? |
| 8 Ways to Be More Affectionate … Posted: 02 Feb 2011 06:50 AM PST Being more affectionate in your relationship tends to make you both more comfortable with one another, as well as bringing you closer together too. There are plenty of subtle ways to show your loved one just how much you care. Here are 8 ways to be more affectionate for you to use. 8. A playful nudgeI find humor to be a large part of a relationship. If you can't laugh with someone you love, then how can you be completely comfortable? A playful nudge given to your loved one when you both are joking around is a simple sign of affection. Make sure it's just a nudge and not a sock to the arm that will cause bruises. This gesture might be alright if you're being one of the guys, but it isn't a very loving gesture! 7. A smooch on the top of the headI think this is rather sweet gesture. My husband does this whenever he walks past my chair. Alright, not every time, but at least more than a couple of times each day. It never fails to make me smile. This sign of affection is easiest to do when your loved one is seated, unless you are the taller one in the relationship. 6. Rubbing the small of the backThis may not sound very affectionate, but I guess it's all in how you do it. Use an open hand and do a couple of slow circles on the small of the back. It has a very soothing effect. You can do this when you are standing next to one another in line. |
| 7 Reasons I Love the Housewives of Beverly Hills … Posted: 02 Feb 2011 06:27 AM PST Ohhh man, this is such a guilty pleasure. I don’t know what it is about the Real Housewives of… franchise, but I love so many of them! D.C drove me crazy, but I am loving Beverly Hills. Maybe it goes back to my adolescent infatuation with the original Beverly Hills 90210, I’m not sure. And maybe seeing these 7 reasons I love the Housewives of Beverly Hills will explain my adoration just a little better. 1. Lisa VanderPump-Todd
I did not like the smarmy British lady on the D.C. Housewives, but I am absolutely crazy about Lisa. Her sense of humor, her wry, dry asides, her jokes, her little snarks regarding her fellow housewives … they are all so marvelous. She should do commentary on every show, it would be brilliant. Plus, she almost looks her age – and she’s still gorgeous! 2. Lisa’s Dogs
Lisa also has the most adorable dogs I have ever seen, save my own little dachshund and my mother’s darling little boy-diva, a Pomeranian/chihuahua/Papillion (omg I know!). I can’t help it, I love lap dogs; I know they aren’t everyone’s thing. Anyway, that tiny little Pom just melts my heart – especially when it barks! It sounds like a toy! 3. The Paris Hilton Connection
So, two of the women on this show, Kim Richards and Kyle Richards, are Paris Hilton’s aunts. They’re her mother’s sisters, I think. One of them never mentions the relationships, the other one talks about it all the time – which I will rant about in a minute. I just keep waiting, though, for a Paris or Nicky cameo, just because I would love to see how the younger generation reacts to this one. |
| 8 Ways to Waste Time at Work … Posted: 02 Feb 2011 06:15 AM PST I have 8 ways to waste time at work. Mind you, I tell you, I do not recommend these ways and you won't find me doing them at work. I mean, I am my own boss and I am not working on anyone's time, but if I worked under someone, I couldn't find myself doing these. 8. Playing Computer GamesOh yes, playing computer games is definitely a sure way to waste time at work. I used to work with someone, someone who was really lazy, who would sit there and play card games on the computer all day, instead of doing work. She even decided to rearrange the desks in the office (got permission from the boss) and the way she arranged the desks were hilarious. She made it where her computer screen could not be seen from the window (the boss liked looking in from the window). She also made it where the boss could not see the screen if he were to walk in. Clever, right? Too bad everyone caught on to this. 7. Chatting OnlineOh yes, chatting online is a great way to waste time at work. "What are you doing right now?" "I am at work." "Are you on break?" "No, I'm working." If you are at work and you are working, then how are you chatting online? Probably waiting for phone calls to come through? 6. Chatting with Others in the Work areaOh yes, make friends with others and chat away. Don't just make friends with others you work with, make friends with the customers that come in as well – laughing up a storm in the office will be sure to waste lots of time. You know what they say – time flies when you are having fun. |
| 7 Tips on Being Hot in Every Shot … Posted: 02 Feb 2011 06:05 AM PST When you take a picture, you want to look like a model, however, it seems that with every picture you take, the more disappointed you become. What would you say if I told you that you could go out and take a picture right now without being disappointed? I can tell you some techniques that will be sure to help you look hot in every shot. If this is what you want, then continue reading these 7 tips on being hot in every shot … 7. Smile
While a picture without a smile can be on the sexy side, I think you should smile at least a couple of times. A picture with a smile can look much better – it looks hot. So, don't be afraid to smile. Learn your sexy smile. 6. Sparkle Eyes
Do you know those photographs where they have a sparkle in their eye? Sure, that may be fake, but it is possible to take. Just place your head so that your eyes catch the light. You know you have it just right when your eyes feel just a little on the uncomfortable side. 5. Don't Use Flash
You should not use flash on the camera, unless you absolutely have to. I believe outside pictures are the best. When you use flash, it could leave shadows on your face. You have a pretty face – you don't want to hide it. |
| Posted: 02 Feb 2011 05:25 AM PST 1. Blythe with Pink Highlights
I like adults who give in to girly whims every now and then. That is why Violet is one of the style bloggers I really like. Take a look at what she did with a Blythe doll! 2. Pink Lips to Chase Away the Monday BluesMarian is also another style blogger I admire. She combines pieces that I wouldn’t dare touch to produce chic looks. She’s a fashion goddess while I am just a lowly spectator. 3. Honeysuckle for your NailsInterestingly, I only started wearing pink nail polish this year. I was always the black/dark colors type. I’ll be looking out for this Revlon goodness in our malls. 4. A Pop of Pink in a Sea of NeutralsI have been known to wear head to toe neutrals. They are just so easy to work with! But I like Whitney’s look here. I will surely go for that pop of color next time. 5. Pink from the Runway to Real FabulousityThe beautiful Diane Kruger attended a gala dinner in Paris wearing a gorgeous Chanel Haute Couture. This wasn’t just any Chanel, though. This was straight from the Spring ’11 runway. Lucky girl. Isn’t pink just lovely? Hit us up in the comments section if you have seen other pink finds lately. Top Photo Credit: violetlebeaux |
| 7 Ways to Take Advantage of Sunny Winter Days … Posted: 02 Feb 2011 12:06 AM PST When winter really sets in, the sun is a welcome change from all those grey skies and cold days. There’s really nothing more invigorating that a cold, crisp winter day when the sun shines bright – and those days present tons of opportunities to do so many fun things! Here, in fact, are 7 ways to take advantage of sunny winter days. 1. Walk Your PetYour pets can get cabin fever as well. I know that when it’s really cold, my darling little dachshund hardly likes to go outside to the bathroom; he hates getting his feet cold! When the temperatures warm up a little and the sun is out, however, his very favorite thing to do is go on a walk so he can romp in the snow – and mark it up about a million times, so everyone else knows he’s been there. 2. Make a Snow AngelIt’s always a good thing when you can see snow as a canvas rather than a never ending, monotonous blanket of whiteness. When the sun is out, twinkling off all those crystals, it’s possible to see it that way – and to have fun. Revisit your youth, have fun with your kids, your partner, your friends, and go make a snow angel! Plus remember to take pictures! 3. Go HikingHiking in the winter time is a great experience, but especially when it’s sunny. You don’t have to go on an hours’ long nature hike designed to kick your butt. A casual, fun hike where you just meander wherever you will is perfect. Not only do you get to experience the sunshine, but the snow sprinkled scenery is apt to be breathtaking. |
| 7 Celebrities I Would Like to Meet … Posted: 01 Feb 2011 10:57 PM PST There are actually quite a few celebrities I’d love to meet and maybe I’ll at least catch a glimpse of a couple of them some day. Here is my list of 7 celebrities I would like to meet. See what you think! I’d love to hear who your top celebrities are that you’d like have a choice encounter with some time. 7. Billy Bob Thornton
I think this guy is just plain cool. I always thought he would be an easy going guy and have a good sense of humor. A good friend of my husband’s said that Billy Bob truly is a nice guy and I trust my husband’s friend’s judgment. He’s a rather laid back character himself, so it seems only fitting that he’d get along with another person with a similar temperament. 6. Matthew McConaughey
Maybe it’s the sultry accent combined with a winning smile and toned physique. It could be the calm demeanor or the way his laugh always makes me smile as well. All I know is that I’d love to meet this guy and see if he truly is as nice as everyone says he is. He just might really be a nice boy from the Carolinas. 5. Beyonce
For being a homeschooled gal, I think Beyonce turned out very well. There are so many kids who are schooled at home and they are very reclusive and shy. This is truer with the homeschooled girls that I’ve met than with the boys. I’ve seen a couple of different interviews with Beyonce and she seems like an extremely sweet person. She seems to be one of the few performers that haven't let fame go to her head. |
