| Posted: 16 Feb 2011 11:19 AM PST For those of you that are interested in dropshipping, I would like to give you 8 pros of dropshipping. With dropshipping, you are selling items that you do not have – your dropshippin company has them and will ship them out for you when someone buys it from you. Basically, you hike the price up there higher than what the dropshipper is charging and that is how you make profit. 8. No Need for StorageI like how there is no need for storage when you are dropshipping. This means you do not have to keep a warehouse and you do not have to give up a room in your house. 7. No Packaging RequiredWith dropshipping, there will be no need to package anything. This saves from the hassle of having to go to the post office each time someone purchase something. The dropshipping company will be sending the package to your customer. Don't worry, the dropshipping company does not put the price you paid on the box, so your customer won't even know. 6. Add New Products to Your Listings QuicklyWithin no time, you will be able to add new products to your listings quickly. As soon as you come across something you wish to sale, you can add it to your page. This is much better than having to wait for the inventory to come to you. |
| 7 Inspirational Things from Me to Those Feeling Suicidal … Posted: 16 Feb 2011 11:04 AM PST I want to take a couple of minutes and talk directly to you. It's just you and I right now – I may not know your name, but I know you are reading this. I am sorry that you are having those suicidal thoughts right now and I am sorry that you feel as if you do not belong on earth right now. I know that this is only words, but words are all I have and if this helps at least one person reading this blog, then I know that I have done my job. Let me give you 7 inspirational things from me to those feeling suicidal … 7. I Understand YouBelieve it or not, I understand where you are coming from. I know, I don't know who you are, but I still understand you. We're a lot alike in more ways than one. We're both human and we both bleed. We could also both die at any minute. I think there is a meaning to life, but I am not sure exactly what that meaning is. However, I don't think death is the answer we are looking for. 6. There's More Things in LifeYour life may seem like it is falling apart right now. You may see it as if no one likes you. You may feel as if you are all alone in this cold world. I will tell you, you are not alone. Do you see all these writers on this blog? We're all here to listen to what you have to say. There are many like us in this world. Just because your life is bad right now does not mean that it is always going to be bad. I have went through a lot in my life and had tons of horrible thoughts about myself float through my mind, but today, I am thankful to be here and one day, you will feel the same. 5. Someone Out There Loves YouJust know that somewhere, someone out there loves you and they are thinking of you right now. Of course, this could be a total stranger, they are still thinking of you. They may not know your name, because you have not officially met. For example, when I was a teenager, I was constantly thinking about the boy I was going to marry. I was wondering what that boy was doing – someone that just hasn't came into your life yet is doing the same thing with you. |
| Posted: 16 Feb 2011 10:43 AM PST Let me make this clear from the start: I’m talking about that horrible phrase used to describe girlfights right now. There’s a reason for this: I recently saw one, in which I was thankfully not involved, taking place in a restaurant parking lot. Sure, everybody gathered around and watched the trainwreck in process, but it was scarier and more disconcerting than it was entertaining. It also got me to thinking, which led me to this post about 7 ways to stop a cat fight. 1. Be CalmWhether you’re a third party or actually involved in a potential cat fight, the best thing you can do is stay calm. That can be difficult either way. Everyone knows from watching Jerry Springer that it’s hard to remain calm and uninvolved whenever there’s a fight taking place. However, keeping a cool head is a much better decision than trying to spur things on further. 2. Be ReasonableThis, too, may not always seem possible but it’s always worth a shot. If there is one reasonable party involved anywhere in any kind of fight, then it can help the other people involved start calming down and trying to be reasonable as well. However, remember there’s a fine line between offering reason and simply getting in the way. 3. Stay Out of the WayThis is important. Even if a fight is simply steeped in shouting, name calling, and insults, you don’t want to get sucked into it. If it turns physical, you don’t need to danger yourself. Look for someone more equipped to step in and handle that part. |
| 11 Ways to Cope with Night Shift Work … Posted: 16 Feb 2011 10:25 AM PST There are some professions where working around the clock is inevitable such as the medical and security professions. However, this increasingly fast paced world has also started to demand that companies operate 24/7; factories produce day in and day out; and employees work day and night. Usually, this is not a problem especially if you are assigned to a morning or midday shift. The problem arises when you are assigned to night shift work. This schedule is in conflict with your body's natural circadian rhythm, thus posing problems for your physical, mental, and social wellbeing. If you cannot avoid night shift work, then you might as well be equipped with effective coping mechanisms such as the following: 1. Exercise and stretch for energyIt is recommended that you exercise before going to work to increase energy and alertness. Exercise will also help you sleep and eat better. If you find yourself feeling sluggish any time during the day, then you should get up, move around, and do some stretching. 2. Bright lights to keep you awakeAnother way to stay awake is to be exposed to high intensity, full spectrum light. The bright light acts as sun light, which signals your brain to stay awake. Having bright lights in the office also help reduce vision problems from prolonged computer use. 3. Keep your sleep routineDuring weekends, it is best to follow your usual sleep routine during weekdays. This will allow your body to adjust to your schedule, allowing you to sleep better. If you must deviate from your weekday sleep routine, try to sleep through a maximum of half of your night work schedule. |

| 8 Tips for Living Paycheck to Paycheck … Posted: 16 Feb 2011 09:51 AM PST A lot of people live paycheck to paycheck. They might, in fact, be in the majority right now. There’s no shame in that, because odds are high that everyone has had to do it one time or another. There are things you can do to make this easier, though – as well as techniques you can follow so you won’t have to do it anymore. You’ll find both in these 8 tips for living paycheck to paycheck. 1. Take Stock of the Sure ThingsThe first thing you want to do is sit down and take a look at your bills. You want to always be aware of the bills you have to pay. Rent, mortgage payments, car payments, et cetera – know the things that have to come out every month, the ones you can’t push back or skip. 2. Categorize Your SpendingNow, you need to go through all the charges you have on your debit cards or credit cards. See what you’ve been spending money on, and assign each item to its own category. Groceries, clothes, essentials, luxury items, and so on – everything needs to be in its own categories. This will let you see what has to be spent, and what you might be able to cut back on or cut out entirely. 3. Separate Your FinancesThat last step may end up hurting your soul a little, but you can see where your money is going. That in turn will make it easier to separate your finances. What I mean by that is that you should now create two master categories: what is necessary and what’s not. In the "What’s Not" category, you can now go through and start to see what you can really cut out. You can also look for alternatives. Like, if you get your hair colored every month or six weeks, start doing it yourself at home. |
| 7 Ways to Prepare for Spring … Posted: 16 Feb 2011 09:44 AM PST I don’t know about you, but my favorite season is spring! I love the freshness – the new feeling that it brings! It isn’t too warm, but not too cold…the spring showers are so refreshing! The windows can be opened and you can enjoy the crisp breeze as it catches the curtains and freshens the indoor air. And the flowers blooming are a sight to behold! Here are seven tips for spring preparation – it’s right around the corner! 1. Spring CleaningI know, it isn’t the best part of spring, but it must be done. And just think about how fresh your home will be when it’s all done. But as for now, in this last bit of Winter, it would be a good idea to stock up on cleaning supplies and such for when Spring cleaning comes around. Make sure to have lots of Windex since the windows get cleaned inside and out. Oh, and a couple cans of Pledge too! Winter dust build-up can be a chore! I like to take the first two weeks of spring, and dedicate them to cleaning all the winter clutter out! Then, it’s done! 2. Garden SuppliesI love to garden! I enjoy getting out and digging in the dirt and planting me some beautiful flowers to enjoy throughout the summer! It’s great to already have all the potting soil and other things I’ll need before the time comes to use it. Several weeks before, I will grab a bag of dirt here, or a pot there – that way when I’m ready, I am ready! 3. Allergy Survival KitYou know it’s coming – pollen party! It’s good for the bees, but not so good for those of us who suffer from seasonal allergies. Thankfully, we have medications that make it seem as if allergies do not even exist! Have that medicine cabinet stocked and ready with your favorite allergy products, so when the pollen starts flying, you can boldly meet it head-on, knowing you’re protected! |
| 9 Helpful Ways To Cut Sugar From Your Diet … Posted: 16 Feb 2011 09:41 AM PST Sugar is such a common part of any modern day diet. Sometimes we consume it without fully realising that it's there. Sugar is no doubt a hard habit to kick, but the health benefits are undeniable. Below are a few tips to get you started. 1. Stop Adding Sugar to FoodThis is probably the most obvious and the simplest method. It will provide the most immediate results. Forgo that teaspoon or two of sugar that you would usually add to your tea, coffee, or cereal. It will take time to adjust to the taste, but you will get used to it in no time! 2. Reduce or Eliminate Processed CarbsCarbohydrates can be a great source of energy, but they can also be converted to sugar in your body. Which is then converted into fat. It doesn't sound very appealing, does it? The most common processed carbs are breads, pastas, and snack foods. The main trick here is limiting your intake and watching portion sizes. 3. Read Packaging LabelsLearn the lingo. Check the labels for sugar content. If the sugar content is high, put it back down. If you must buy it, search for the product with the lowest sugar content. |
| Posted: 16 Feb 2011 09:40 AM PST I always thought that traveling is fun. In fact, I can come up with different reasons as to why it is so fun. Right now, I am going to give you 7 reasons to love traveling. In the end, I want you to tell me why you enjoy traveling so much. 7. It's RomanticI believe that traveling can have a romantic touch to it when you are doing it with someone you love. There is nothing like riding in the car with the one you love next to you. There are many conversations spoken while going down the road – just make sure you drive safe. 6. See New ThingsI like seeing new things. This is one of the reasons I enjoy traveling so much. I am a very adventurous girl. When traveling, I always come across new adventures. I especially love places that have lots of woods and rivers. 5. Learn about Other CulturesAnother reasons I believe traveling is fun would be because you get to learn different things about other cultures. You will be surprised at how other cultures are. They are always interesting. Take a look at India and compare it with America – they do things differently. I have always wanted to travel to India as well as Bangladesh. |
| 7 Reasons I Still Love Spongebob … Posted: 16 Feb 2011 09:17 AM PST It's been more than ten years since Spongebob first appeared on Nickelodeon, but my love for Bikini Bottom and its residents has not diminished. From stodgy Squirdward to tiny, evil Plankton, they're all fantastic, and I wish I lived there, too… except, of course, that the place is fictional, and I wouldn't be able to breathe. Phooey! Here are 7 reasons I still love Spongebob. 1. He's still funnyThat's right — even after ten years, Spongebob and his friends are still wickedly funny. Granted, the writing's not as gentle or sweet-natured as before, but it's still funny and still smart. So many of the jokes aren't just for kids, either… much like the old Bugs Bunny gags, they're meant for adults, really. 2. The guest starsJohnny Depp, Ernest Borgnine, Tim Conway, Scarlett Johanssen, David Bowie, Marion Ross, Victoria Beckham, and even David Hasselhoff… can any other show, animated or live-action, boast a more diverse, cooler cast of guest stars? I think not. 3. The musicAside from the theme music, and other background tunes, the show is loaded with hilarious songs. Some are performed by bona-fide bands (like Pantera in "Pre-hibernation Week"), others by the main characters, like the song sung by Mr. Krabs, a nod to Randy Newman. The music is fantastic! |
| 7 Brands That Have Disappointed Me … Posted: 16 Feb 2011 09:00 AM PST Some of my fav commercial brands are very affordable, some are not so budget friendly but I keep insisting on going shopping there once and a while because quality comes with that price tag too. However, sometimes even my fav brands turn out to be a huge disappointment. And these following ones got me feeling pretty robbed – some in terms of money and quality and some in terms of utterly bad shopping experience. 1. Mango
If you ever decide to buy a dress you'll wear in special occasion in some of the Mango shops do not, and I repeat, do not wash it, before that first and the most important wear. Especially if some of the parts are done in the cotton-viscose blend. I have hand washed mine in lukewarm water and it went from totally black to black with a red undertone – the shade that could have passed as OK, if all parts of the dress had been washed out. Satin top part remained black-black and with two different shades of black my dress was completely un-wearable at the moment and an ideal candidate for a DIY paint job. 2. Avon
I totally loved their Planet Spa collection of masks and facial scrubs and, when they have introduced that Solutions ( I think) line of skincare products for different skin types and ages, I was very excited to give it a try. I could buy a Nivea or Garnier crème for that money but I didn't and that was a terrible mistake I'll never forget. The revitalizing, regenerating, non-greasy crème this company advertised turned out to be nothing more than a glycerin filled junk that kept building up in my pores causing series of skin problems a whole year after I've used this product. I didn't pop out blackheads or whiteheads but see thru silicone-resembling grains that were nothing else but all those components my skin just couldn't absorb. Terrible! |
| Posted: 16 Feb 2011 08:58 AM PST The Buffy the Vampire Slayer series ran for 6 consecutive years – 1997 to 2003 – on WB. This long-running show gave viewers ample time to discover who Buffy was and to come to love watching her fight the forces of evil in Sunnydale, California. I remember seeing this show advertised shortly before it came to air. I thought it looked like it was going to be a great show and it was! Here are 8 reasons I liked Buffy and the entire show. 8. The head vampire slayer was a femaleSo many vampire slayers are portrayed by men. They all have to be these big guys with massive muscles so they can use brute force to slay vampires. Buffy was slight in stature, yet very effective with her techniques for vampire slaying. Of course, it did help that she had super-human strength and slaying vampires was a relatively simple task for her. 7. Buffy might have preppy, but didn't act like the rest of the PrepsBuffy talked to everyone and didn't shun people because of the types of clothes they wore or who they hung out with. She was genuinely kind-hearted. I think this is best seen in the very first episode when she begins talking to Willow. I liked that this attribute of Buffy was brought out right from the start. 6. The episodes were well writtenThe longer a series plays, the more drawn out and slow they tend to become. There seems to be a lack of ingenuity and creativity after a while. I can't recall this happening in the Buffy series. Each season also blends well with the next. Even all the oddities, such as werewolves, vampires, and various demons come across as being very believable. |
| Posted: 16 Feb 2011 08:53 AM PST Does your partner snore? Does it drive you insane? Or perhaps you're the culprit and it's your man who's going crazy. Getting a good night's sleep is so important to a healthy lifestyle and can be made completely impossible by a noisy sleeper in your bed. Here are seven handy hints to fix a snoring nightmare so that you and you guy can get the rest you both deserve … 1. AllergeniusAllergies cause congestion which in turn cause blocked airways, and together these result in the loud, rattling breath we call snoring. Getting hay fever treated with appropriate medication will open up the throat and sinuses and this will cure the problem. Also, if you suffer from allergies, be sure to keep windows closed at night, because if you throw them open, you’ll be letting in all the danders, dust, and other allergens that irritate you and make you (or your man) snore. 2. Heavy SleepersBeing overweight and being a snorer go hand in hand. Who knew it ladies, getting your guy to the gym might just help you sleep! Poor muscle tone and fatty tissue, particularly around the neck region, cause the throat to become compressed which makes breathing loud, laboured, and very annoying to sleep next to! 3. Posture ProblemsPeople who sleep on their backs tend to snore far more than those who favour a sideways orientation. Lying flat causes the neck to relax and obstruct airways, so encourage your partner (or yourself) to lie facing the side: you'll find breathing will become quieter immediately. |
| Posted: 16 Feb 2011 08:41 AM PST Fortunately for me, I've always been a big fan of eggs, no matter how they are prepared. The 7 reasons to love eggs that I've listed below might encourage you to eat more eggs. They have gotten a bad rap over the years, but scientists have recently retracted their accusations that eggs are terrible for your health. So, read the list, eat some eggs, and improve your health! 7. They are high in fatty acidsThese are the good kind of acid that your body needs. Omega-3 fatty acid is necessary for good brain and retinal function. Who doesn't want to improve the function of their brain and eyes? I know I do! These fatty acids are very important for kids and pregnant women too. Cod liver oil and fatty fish also have plenty of omega-3 fatty acids in them, but eggs also have arachidonic acid as well. This is an omega-6 fatty acid that mammals require to help repair and grow skeletal muscle tissue. 6. They are an excellent source of proteinContaining 6 grams of protein, eggs are a great source of protein for people who don't like to eat meat. I'm not a huge fan of the texture of meat. I find I have to chew it over and over and over again before I feel I can safely swallow it. I'd actually rather eat a plate full of scrambled eggs than fight with a portion of meat for dinner. 5. They have lutein in themA dark yellow yolk signifies the presence of lutein in eggs. It is thought that lutein helps protect eyes against oxidative stress, which is the cause of many diseases, such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, heart failure, atherosclerosis, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Consuming lutein also helps prevent macular degeneration and cataracts. I'm all for saving my eyesight and if eating eggs will help, so be it! |
| 8 Trends I’d Like To See In Fashion … Posted: 16 Feb 2011 08:35 AM PST Do you ever find fashion annoying? I've never followed it because I get really fed up with being told what is in this year, what I should like, and what I should be wearing. I'm too much of an individual for that! So here are some trends that I'd like to see – I think they'd be very refreshing. 1. Realistic Models
None of us look like catwalk and fashion models. And to be honest, would we want to? Most of us aren't six feet tall and stick thin, so let's see some models that reflect a more realistic image. Since we're the customers, it's only what we deserve. 2. All Ages
Yes, a few models keep working past their mid-twenties, but youth is still worshipped in fashion. It's fine to use young models if you're marketing to that age group. If you want to sell to older women though, use models who aren't young enough to be their daughters! Older women can look great too. 3. Affordability
Recession or not, most of us don't have vast disposable incomes to blow on clothes, so it really annoys me to see ridiculously expensive clothes in publications that aren't aimed at the rich. Let's have more articles on affordable fashion, and clothes that won't break the bank. |
| 7 Reasons Why You Should Encourage Sports as a Parent … Posted: 16 Feb 2011 08:31 AM PST Whether or not your child is athletically inclined, it is always a good idea to encourage him or hear to participate in sports. Only you as a parent can judge if it is ultimately working out for your child, but always give it a chance. Encouraging sports helps your child to learn valuable life lessons early on making it a vital aspect of his or her growing up process. Here are 7 reasons why you should encourage sports as a parent. 1. It encourages healthy livingGetting your child to enjoy sports encourages a healthy lifestyle from an early age. Everyone knows that exercise is a strong component of living a long and problem free life so what better way to get your child to exercise later on in life than making him enjoy it from his earliest days. 2. It helps your child build self esteemActive participation in sports helps your child build self-esteem early on in life. It teaches him to feel good about his accomplishments and achievements and remain strong in the face of adversity. 3. It teaches goal settingSetting goals and working towards it is an active component of any sporting activity. The coach and other teammates will teach your child how to work towards the goals of the season and unwittingly your child will pick up on these aspects. |
